Sammy, I mean.

Before, I thought that neither cat was really in tune with my mood, but I'm sitting here right now, on the verge of tears and he came over to lay with me which is REALLY rare. AND he was purring when I pet him, which he doesn't do very often (except when Lola's gone, like when she was spayed or before we got her, Sammy isn't very cuddly). Sammy's a very tolerent cat and he likes to be in the room with me, but doesn't like to be bothered, so he's usually under my desk or on his new cat condo.

Anyway, I've just been having an incredibly stressful week. I have final exams to study for (only 1 left to go), my sister's boyfriend has been discharged from the hopsital with a prescription and "nothing else we can do for you" (he's losing his ability to use his legs and is in a lot of pain), my mom is going in for surgery tomorrow and I'm trying to organize myself enough to be ready to move on saturday. Oh, I'm also flat broke and have no food. My boyfriend is coming up for the night, even though it means he'll have to drive 1.5 hrs here and another 1.5 hrs back tomorrow morning to go to work, cuz he knows I'm pretty much freaking out. But in the meantime, I'm really glad Sammy is in a friendly mood.......

Oh dear
You have so much to deal with right now. I am sure that he does know. I believe through experience that they can sense our feelings or moods. My jess always came up to me when I was crying.
You are in my prayers.

Of course Sammy knows. Consider him a guardian angel and just let him comfort you. Try and find a bit of peace in his companionship.

I hope your week gets better for you!

We have two cats that are very in tune with emotions...one, HATES it when my son cries. She is normally very shy, but if he cries, he is 7, she is RIGHT THERE, grabbing his head with her paws and licking his hair...very sweet.

I admire your ability to find that "ray of sunshine" (appreciating Sammy's attention) during these difficult times. Your family and you will be in my prayers tonight. And I hope that your b-friend brings you some good, nourishing food; your brain needs extra fuel! Please keep us posted!
Hugs & smiles from California,Susan

Oh, Leli, what stress your under right now.
Of course Sammy knows how you're feeling. Our babies know us better than anyone. I'm really glad he's there with you tonight to bring you love and comfort during this difficult time.

Leli, I'm so sorry for all your troubles! Of course Sammy knows!! It's sweet that he's comforting you.

Some of the best advice ever given to me was from a friend when I was in college. He told me that when things get overwhelming to try to not think about everything at once. Just deal with whatever you can handle right now. Tell yourself "I just have to get through the next hour". If you have to break it down to getting through the next minute, you won't be the first.

Hugs & good vibes from Chicago

Thanks for all the support, guys. Soon after I posted, Lola came and joined me and Sammy, which was nice too. And I felt much better once my boyfriend got here.
I'm feeling better now....I just got home from my last exam, so at least that's behind me. Now I just have to tackle packing up the rest of this stuff so I'll be ready to move tomorrow. I haven't heard anything from my dad about my mum yet, but it's a routine surgery so I'm confident that it'll go well. And I plan to call my sister and her boyfriend tomorrow from my parents' house when we go there to grab some furniture my mom said we could have. If I get stressed again, I'm gonna try to focus on how nice it'll be living with my boyfriend, instead of here (my roommates are messy and the house is FILTHY. It smells, there's clothes and garbage all over the place, and there hasn't been a clean dish in FOREVER, so you can imagine how glad I am to be moving Sammy and Lola out of this environment)
