I have a new kitty that I trapped Monday, and am starting the socialization process. He's a long haired black male with big 'ol yellow eyes, and he's gorgeous (at least he will be when his hair grows back where they had to take out numerous burrs and mats). The problem is I cannot decide on a name. I want to give him something with meaning and strength, so I searched a baby name site and came up with some that I liked the way they sounded, had a good meaning, and reflected attributes he has, or I would like him to have.

Help! Let's play...Name That Cat!

There are a couple of pictures of him on my later post...isn't he a beauty?

There were a few good choices in there, but I just voted for one. I think Keefe is cute.

Here you go Lacey!
They aren't very good because I don't want to stress him out, so I snap pretty quickly, and I've only taken a couple. They're pretty grainy because I think the flash would just freak him out too much:

Here he is Monday literally just after I trapped him (you can see the burrs on his poor little tail
)

Today he finally came out of his hiding place, and took up residence in one of the litter boxes:

I voted Beau, just on your description, without seeing the pictures, and I wouldn't change it if I could -- he's gorgeous!

I voted for Keefe. I agree with Ryan and Rita, it does seem to fit. I know a lot of people are voting for Beau, which is nice too, but I think he's too pretty for such a rough, masculine name. Plus, Keefe reminds me of Calvin O'Keefe from the Wrinkle in Time books.....and your little guy looks like he's been on a few journies himself.

I like Asher, not only because I'm partial to Hebrew names, but you could also call him Ash for short... which would be very fitting.

I voted Bali. Just from his looks in the pic. I don't know....it just seems to fit to me. He's very handsome!

I usually name my rescues while driving in the car from Albuquerque to the vet in Santa Fe.
Whatever comes to mind and seems to fit.

Btw, I think all the name are great...I'll keep them in mind for my future rescue kitties.

Before I vote I have a weird request. Could you phoenetically spell out these name so that I know actually how they're pronounced? Thanks either way.
