What television shows still stick in your mind from when you were growing up?

For me it was Man From Uncle, The Ed Sullivan Show, Get Smart, Land of the Giants and Streets of San Francisco

Well, I grew up watching shows like The Brady Bunch ( oh how embarrasing ), Three's company, The Cosby Show, Facts of Life, Happy Days, Charles in Charge...........hmmmm, thats all I can think of right now. I guess those were all 80's shows. But I watched them all, and still catch them on Nick at Nite sometimes!!

When my son was younger, I used to watch Nick at Night with him. We used to like watching Mister Ed, which was a show from the 60's, and was about a horse who was able to talk to his owner.

Okay, from my childhood, trying to avoid the Saturday morning cartoon ghetto:

I Dream of Jeannie
Family Affair (Mr. French, Uncle Bill, it was reruns at lunch time)
Captain Kangaroo
Romper Room
Julia
M*A*S*H (not as reruns)
Adam 12
Ed Sullivan
Emergency!
The Friendly Giant
Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
All In The Family
Kimba the White Lion
The Sonny and Cher Show (also Donny & Marie, Tony Orlando & Dawn, the Captain & Tenille)
Walter Cronkite as a young man
Mr. Rogers (but no Sesame Street yet)
Rex Trailer
Mr Smith Goes to Washington (with Jimmy Stewart, not 100% sure about the name)
The Today Show with Joe Garagiola as a host
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Dinah Shore Show

And of course there's tons of stuff at the edges of my mind but I just can't bring it into focus . . .

I have been trying to remember the name of this one show about two astronaunts stranded on another planet- the only thing I can remember is the ditty they played before it came on "It's about time, it's about space, about two men in the strangest place? About two people stranded in time.........." ANY CLUES? I am drawing a blank here!

Wait, was one of the Bob Denver (used to play Gilligan, used to play Maynard G. Krebs before that)? It was on on Saturday mornings about noon? Can't think of the name . . . I might remember the plot of one or two episodes . . .

I forgot all about American Bandstand. Used to rush home from school with my best friend, roll back the rug and dance along with the program. I also loved Dark Shadows, the only soap I could ever get into.

Catarina,

No, I'd remember Gilligan's Island! I'm not that braindead . . . yet!

I was thinking of Hissy's idea, and B.D. used to do this kind of weire outer space show, maybe for one season. He and another guy are loading food into the spaceship and the other guy hands him a stack of like tv dinners and says "Lunch". B.D. hits the launch button instead and they end up doing a sort of Lost in Space thing.

You might be too young, but back in the 70's, probably when there were more Boomer kids (I was born in the last year that is ever acknowledged of the baby boom), Sat. a.m. cartoons used to start at 5 or 6 in the morning and run until noon or later, and sometimes almost as long on Sun. too! So we got all kinds of stuff that'd prolly never get air time today. I think that was one of those shows, tho' I kind of liked it. See? I was a sci-fi fan even back then! lol

I remember a lot of the shows mentioned. I liked One Day At A Time, All In The Family, Little House On The Prairie, The Waltons, The Jeffersons, Mary Tyler Moore, Three's Company and Charlie's Angels. I know there were more than those. I liked Golden Girls which was more recent and Designing Women.

Wasn't that where the show opened and these two people were spinning into the voids of a tunnel? This other show showed two astronauts at launch and then they vanished. GRR! I hate when this happens, I know I would recognize it if I heard it though....... I also couldn't get enough of The Prisoner, and Wild Wild West!

Does anyone remember a show called "Small Wonder" ? It was about a family who had a robot in the form of a little girl. It was a fave of mine as a kid. Some of my fave cartoons were The Smurfs, The Snorks, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and I was brought up on Sesame Street, Mr. Dressup, and The Friendly Giant. As far as adult shows, I always loved The Carol Burnette show, Three's Company and the Littlest Hobo.
