Is your husband a sappy person or not??? Speaking with almost 20 yrs of wedded bliss if I had ever got that for my hubby he would roll his eyes and asked why I bought that!! We unfortunately are the boring practical type even though he bought me an emerald ring for our 10th (which I exchanged as it was pretty gaudy!!).
I usually will buy candy, power tools!! I got a wheelbarrow once and a coffee maker- but I really wanted them!! And a nice meal of course.

Then what is a good guy gift?? He isn't into hunting/fishing/car racing/sports or other "manly" stuff like that.

My husband would roll his eyes also. Instead of buying anniversary, birthday, and Valentines day presents, we put aside the money we would've spent and take an extra vacation. A vacation is something you never forget, no matter how many you have.

I think I'd like to get him something that he could take to Iraq with him since he won't be here for our 3rd anni (or any other holiday after sept)

Video games but there is NO WAY I am getting him anything to feed that addiction!!!! He actually is getting into building computers... maybe I could splurge a little and get him a really wild looking cpu box?

Beth that was going to be my next suggestion. Find out what he's thinking he might need for the deployment, and then figure out a way to personalize it so every time he sees it he thinks of you!

Actually maybe I could get him a custom 'dog tag' to wear with his real ones while he is over there.... I could put a nice little message on it or something. Hmmm....

whether guys admit it or not they like toys, my husband is really into video games, so i try to get him some, or power tools, but his favorite gift was a remote control truck i bought him, and when we bought our home, several guys in the neighborhood have them...they all go out and race there cars around...i've also gotten him heating pads because he has a bad back, and new shoes because he won't buy them himself, he thinks he only needs one pair...what about a fancy dinner of his favorite food, and favorite dessert?

How about just a T-shirt with prints on it. Something like :"Our 2nd year Anniversary" on the front and "This T-shirt is a gift from wife" at the back. He could wear that everyday at home.

I like the dog tag idea. That's nice. I need to come up with something spectacular this year and soon, but on normal Valentines or Anniversary, I mae a "manly" type basket (I've seen plastic buckets that you use around the house done for men) and put a bunch of little stuff in it. $5.00 gift card for the video store , a bottle of wine, two tickets to the movie theatre, a gift card for your favorite restaurant, some sexy stuff, an gift cert from you personally promising you will do a hated chore or for a backrub or something. Just a few of many things you could throw in. I wrap it in shrink wrap, stick a bow on it- instant gift!

That is a cool idea Chris. Actually he just got himself a truck so maybe I could make a truck care bucket? Some nice auto wash and wax?? I could stick the dog tag in there for him as an extra little sweet something.
