I can't seem to find "normal" clothes!!!!!! Everything is so teeny-boppy or huzzy momma!
I've been looking for some blue jeans for 3 months now!!!!! It's even harder because I'm looking for maternity jeans....they are all boot but, low rise, mid-rise, etc!!!

I've been squeezing my belly into my pre-pregnancy jeans but today I can't zip them if I'm going to sit down! I'm in that hard to fit size where i'm not quite an 18 but not a 20.
Oh, I'm sooo aggervated!!!! Then to top things off, I'm short so capris are out of the question!!! I'm so short that they come about an inch above my ankle so I look riduculous! And one more thing, I'm so white that I look like a ghost so I try not to show my legs anyway! Seriously, in a pitch black room, you could still find me!!!! Tanning beds are out of the question, I'm just bright white....I burn when I take a walk to the mail box!

Sorry to vent, I've just been all over the internet to find some maternity jeans with no luck AGAIN! Just frustrated!~
Thanks for listening!

oh hunny!ooooooo, that must be very frustrating indeed. Is there a Walmart close to you? I love our local one, I buy stuff there all the time - hi-rise, low-rise, conservative or funky.
And Neutrogena has this wonderful self-tanning spray just out on the market. It doesn't drip and dries fast, so getting color on your legs looks natural and you control the intensity - just a thought!?

Thanks E!

I've been to Wal-Mart & Target ( I love Target!!)......no luck. They have my size but they don't carry the petite, so they are about 6 inches too long (no joking).

The self-tans.......I'm a red-head and just look hilarious!! (I'm Sicilian and Irish - yes Siclians are VERY fair skinned red heads) I've tried it before and turned orange.....matched my hair! LOL

Oh well, I'm thinking that I might just have to live in drawstring pants or elastic waist pants for the next 6 months.

i was just going to say that they have brought out alot of new self tanning stuff and atleast one of them should come out NOT ORANGE!
Walmart, target, Kmart should have good things for pregnant women... Or else go to a maternity store.. if you have one near you

from what ive noticed women just get frustrated and buy denim overalls

You know that just might be true....yoga pants - the free-flowing ones? I am trying to think of a catalog that might be helpful....Chadwick's of Boston, or Newport News - both carry petite sizes and lots of sizes! They have tons of warm-weather, lighter clothing, not like Eddie Bauer or something up here which assumes you want a parka in July.
Well, personally? I think you should be proud of your fairness and redhead stature!
When all the other women around you have aged, you will still look great - no sun!

Gee I was going to start a thread about this just the other day. I went clothes shopping for myself and my 8 yr old girl. I had one hella time.

I gave up on mine, because all the tops were LOW CUT and "meant" to show off cleavage. Show the boobs, is what the tops screamed to me. Well if I had boobs, I'd not even want to show them, because it's huzzy. And well, I am not a stripper or cocktail waitress; so all the tops at the mall I bypassed.

So I went online. Newport News & Chadwicks, mentioned above, got my money. They have several nice, conservative and professional looking outfits. Skirts, pants, tops that DO NOT make your boobs hang out. I guess the in-thing now is to dress like a ho?

For my daughter's stuff, I was kind of shocked to see that even for her age they have T-shirts with nasty sayings on them or just stupid sayings. To see how 'sexy' the little girls clothes have become makes me sick.

You will have to give up on finding normal jeans. They aren't around anymore! You have to get the high waters or boot cuts or whatever they are called. I caved and that's all I wear now but yeah, I feel like I'm trying to look 16 or something. Re: Capri's and being short, I feel your pain. I am 5 feet tall and while capri's look cute, they are too long.

When I was preggers I wore long dresses with tie-waists. Since it's Summer you can prolly go to eBay and find sundresses. Do you like dresses? Some of them can be casual (if you can't find jeans or capri's). Like, denim sundresses with casual shoes?

Anyways I feel your pain. The stuff being marketed to both adults and kids right now is real slutty. Boobs, navels & butts all over the place, I swear.

My long lost twin sister!

I sympathize, I am losing weight and dreading going shopping for new clothes for the same reasons - I just don't do hip huggers or mid-anythings.

Well I have another beef about clothes. I buy size L tops at times because I have wide shoulders and you know-boobs. Well they are either so large or have the spandex which give a better fit but the shirts are so thin and I don't a need padded so they look slutty to wear for work. I'm tall (5'8") and the capris unless they have tapered legs makes my calves and ankles look like sticks.
I haven't bought a new pair of jeans in yrs and am not looking forward to shopping for them.
That is why I like shopped at Talbots (sales preferred) or Ann Taylor (sales again).
The sizes are good and so is the quality and style.
My rant is done!!!

My daughter velcroed maternity panels into her regular jeans and that took her nearly through her whole pregnancy. You can get them at any fabric store. She wears all black most of the time, and that was really hard to find in maternity clothes.

Movin' on up!
I haven't been pregnant, in many a year (God bless the gyno who tied my tubes) but, I DO seem to remember that thrift and consignment shops were great places for maternity clothes. I had a great pair of maroon velvet bell-bottoms, when I was pregnant with Mark. I bought them for about $1.99 in a thrift store.

Ugh! Tell me about it! And I'm so NOT a flowery clothes person. And just try to find anything professional looking.
Unless you're willing and able to spend a hundred bucks on one outfit (I'm not), apparently big girls just *lounge* and/or garden. Wish I could have that life.

Oh, and for you Petites....come on out to Colorado! I can't hardley FIND any pants that aren't Petite. (Apparently if you are a big girl, you are also a small stature...) I have to search for pants that don't make me look like I'm waiting for a flood, and I'm only 5'6".

They only sell clothes that are designed for models
eg: the length of the pants... is designed for a woman who is 170cm +
I love flairs as jeans because it makes my body even out
atleast id like to think so, but even so, they make them so long that when you take them up there is no flair anymore

Maybe we can pants shop for each other and mail them!
Like I said, down here everything is at least 3-6 inches too long on me. (I'm aobut 5'2" or 3")
And the capri things, the legs are soooo huge it makes me look like I'm in a tent. Especially the ones that widen at the bottom, which by the way, I haven't found any that don't!

Well I finally bought 2 pairs of "capris" at Target today because they had the drawstring so I'm guessing it should get me through the pregnancy. Funny this is, the capris look like baggy pants on me. They hit me at my ankle where normal pants do. I think I'm going to bring them to a seamstress to see if they can shorten them. I hope it works!

I'm also about to look at those sites that were mentioned. I just got home so I thought I'd update this!

I'm glad to know that I'm not alone! But at the same time, I'm sorry that you guys are going though it too!
