Hi,

It's kind of a long story. Anyways I had a kitten, female she was brought from the outside to inside at about 10 weeks she hid for about a week or so but then came out and about. And she's about 8 months now and has never been to affectionate I have had cats in the past and I just figured she wasn't so loving as some others. But now all she wants is love and is constantly following me always wants to be on me, which I don't mind. But if I don't love her that instant or pet her she will scratch me or bite me. Sometime in the morning I will be getting ready and I don't have time to pet her for a long time and she will scratch and bite me, then I go to school with scratch marks on me. So my problem is do I love her even when she is being aggressive and the reason she is being that way is because I am not giving her enough attention or should I ignore her when she is bad. And this has started recently maybe in the past month. I was wondering if my cat is just stubborn or may something be wrong, and she is only like this to me she ignores everyone else in the house.

Any advice would be welcome, Thanks!

I am no expert but what kind of playtimes does she get? 8 months is still that young very playful exuberant adolescent kitten age..
Try making a routine of 2 playtimes per day....In the a.m and at night before bed.
Perhaps her tendency to scratch and bite (is she doing this in a play mode I should ask?) will lessen..

If my Lovey doesn't get adequate playtime (like any cat), he will treat me as the giant cat toy and pounce at my ankles , etc..I simply ignore him if he does this and walk away to another room...Then when he calms, I play with him.
Does she have toys? I suggest cat dancer or similiar fishing pole toy..Find out what she likes and go from there.

Good luck...Bumping this up might garner you more response.

Is she spayed? One reason a cat of this age would be seeking attention is because she is in heat and looking for all the attention she cat get. Also, my boyfriend had a cat who was antisocial and rather nasty at times (unless she was in heat) When he spayed her finally it was determined that she had a cyst in her ovaries and perhaps she was behaving strangely because she was an pain or discomfort. After she recovered from the spay (it took about 3 days) she turned into the sweetest little girl meowing for love and rarely ever gets to the point where she wil growl or scratch. And she was a biter before!

Fixing a cat can sometimes solve some of these minor behavior problems. If she is already spayed then nevermind!

Also this behavior could be health-related. When was the last time she was at the vet's?

No she's not spayed, that could easily be the problem. I need to get her fixed spaied ASAP. But at the moment she's not in heat. Thanks for the replys.

That what my cat does too. He will hide under my bed and wait for me to walk by and them reach out and swat at my feet. And like Loveysmummy said, cat dancer toys are great. I got one at Petsmart for about $2.00 but I've also seen them at Target and Wal-Mart. Here's the link for them http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1115604683242 Have fun!
