Processed cat chews are available in pet stores in one flavor: chicken. Similar processed dog chews come in yummy-looking bacon, cheese, and many other flavors.

Processed cat chews are treats, not intended to replace a healthy diet. With that in mind, is there any reason not to give cats the small processed dog chews?

The only hazzard may be a choking hazzard. The dog chewies are much tougher than the cat ones.

Sandie,

Thanks, but how would choking be an outcome of a tougher product? Please go into further detail.

....and don't forget about chipping their teeth. That happened to a friends cat while trying to chew a dog chew.....

I can see how tougher products could break teeth. Maybe we can find a recipe for cat chews.

They also can't break them up into small enough peices. Thats where the choking would come into play. I only know because one of the cats got ahold of the dogs chewey...now he only gets them outside.
