We lost Hardrive. He got out and we found him on the hwy.
We feel sick that we didnt find him in time and so guilty that he got away on us. He was such a little daredevil and we were always rescuing him from something but we loved him and will miss him so very much.

He is buried under our big oak tree in the back. I had just found a vet that would neutar him at four months and he was going to go in tomorrow.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of such a young one! Most folks wouldn't believe that we could get so attached to a kit in such a short time, but we do don't we?
Please don't beat yourself up over him getting out, it can happen to any of us, with any of our kitties. I know that I don't have any magic words to take away the pain that you're feeling right now, but I will tell you that I'm thinking of you, and praying for you. If you need to vent about it, or just need a shoulder to cry on, pm me, or look me up on Yahoo or MSN, I'm online for about another four hours. {{{{HUGS}}}}

I'm so sorry to hear about Hardrive. Please don't blame yourself. This could happen to any of us with kitties. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that during the short time your little guy was here, you gave him lots of love and care. You and Hardrive will be in my thoughts and prayer.

I had been following your behavior thread when I read the terrible news. I am so sorry. We live out in the country but real close to a highway. No matter how careful we are in the 10 years I have lived there I have lost 2 dogs to the highway. I know what you mean about feeling guilty. I felt just horrible when we lost Reggie and Data but you have to remember that you loved them and tried to protect them. Sometimes as humans that is just the best we can do.

Thoughts and prayers go to you and your family.

I thought you might like this little peom:

Thanks to all of your kindness and thoughtfull reply's. It is so hard to know that we wont see him again. We were so looking forward to him and Misty becoming good pals when we could finally get them together without having to keep them separated.

Right now we just cant even think about another friend for her cause its too soon and we cant replace him just like that. I still visit him under the tree a couple of times a day and just cant believe he is gone. I am painting a stone with his name on it to put on his grave.

Thanks again. I am so glad I have this site to come to talk about him with people who know exactly how I feel.

Darlin', trust me when I tell you that I know how you feel. Seems your Hardrive and my Bit went to the Bridge pretty close to each other, maybe they found each other there!

We've only just had Willow a little over a month now and I am head over heels for this girl. I think my hubby didnt understand how attached I had become when she was so ill. It just happens. I am SO very sorry to hear about your Hardrive! My heart goes out to you and your family!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Every kitty I see on a highway I cry for because I can't help but wonder how it's Mommy and Daddy feel since they are gone. Hopefully you will find the day that you feel comfortable getting a playmate for Misty and get another kittie! Until then, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Your loss is very raw at the moment but please dont blame yourself. Cars and cats just dont mix and how ever hard we try to stop them, little 'daredevils' will often find out the hard way. You will remember Hardrive with love.
You are in my thoughts

so sorry!
losing a pet is tough, i can't imagine
i'd suggest, next time you adopt a cat, that you make him/her 100%indoor, it's healthier for the cat and for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Hardrive. Things happen often without an obvious reason...but maybe he was needed to watch over even younger kittens at the bridge. Whatever the reason, he is your guardian kit now
My thoughts are with you.

Please take care of yourself, and KNOW that you are being prayed for. I am so sorry!
The sweet baby is at the rainbow bridge now, and is playing and is happy.
I know you are hurting, though. Sending hugs, Bobbie

You guys are so kind and thoughtfull. Thanks again from all who sent their sympathy's to us. I did paint that rock for his grave with his name on it and telling him he is forever in our hearts and his spirit is always with us.

I am sorry to hear of your loss of Harddrive, you did what you could for him, but they do have their own little minds, and don't always listen. Remember the good times until you both meet at the bridge. My thoughts are with you
