Hey ladies, I was thinking, "puffy eyes" we seem to have down, but what about the nasty "my head is going to explode" headache that follows the next day after you cry yourself to sleep? I've tried just about every OTC, including the sinus remedies, and to me, the only thing that really helps is to go to bed and sleep. Any of you have any ideas? I have this feeling that it's going to take forever for 5 o'clock to get here today!

Awwww, thanks Susan! But that is one of the reasons that I hate to cry in the first place....not only does it make me look bad, it makes me feel like crap too. Being an only child, and a "daddy's girl" I could definitely use tears to get my way, even now, but I don't 'cause it's not worth the looking and feeling bad later.

Yeah, Cindy, I think sleep's the only thing for it. Your body's got a whole lot of recovering to do just now. I'd be there in a heartbeat to cover for you, if it weren't so far away
Hang in there!

This might not help this time, but it could be useful for the next time this kind of things happens: try a spiced hot/cold pad. I have one by a company called Nature's Way. It's a soft fabric on the outside with little beads and spices on the inside. There's a TON of spices: chamomile, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, white willow, yellow dock root, cinnamon, valerian root, saw palmetto berry, lemon grass, yarrow, lavender, flaxseed and natural grain. I generally just heat it as it takes too long to get it cold enough, but it REALLY helps me out. Often I get massive headaches from exhaustion and I'll just lie down with the warm spice pillow draped over my forehead and eyes and it always calms my headaches. Just an idea. Hope you feel better!!!

I was going to say the same thing.
Generally if you feel like you have a hangover, whether from lack or sleep or crying or drinking
, it is likely dehydration that makes you feel that way.

oh Cindy, I am so sorry. I, too, have been where you are...lots of nights in a row, too.
I have pressure to look "nice" for my job every day, and I take a hot, steamy washcloth and just soak my face in that for about 3-4 minutes when I wake up. 2 Excedrin, and then drink 12 oz. ice-cold Gatorade to replenish all the electrolytes lost in stress. Then I take ice cubes wrapped in a paper towel and gently place them on my eyes = about 7 minutes for everything. Within 1 hr, my eyes are normal again and pounding in my head and swollen face are all gone.

I'm sorry, Cindy. I've been there, and that headache stinks...like it's not bad enough that you had to feel bad enough to cry the night before, you have to feel crummy the whole next day!

It probably won't help you today, but at most health food stores you can find a product called Emergen-C. It sometimes helps me. It's a packet of powder and you disolve it in water and drink it. It's all electrolytes and it gets fizzy so it hits your system quickly. It also works for the swimmy-headed feeling you get on really hot days (and for hangovers, too).
