Our kittens are 4 weeks old now. I know they are going to be winged soon. I have a few question I hope someone can answer.

1. How will I know when they are winged? (I don't want them to starve to dead becasue I didn't know.)

2. What kind of kitten food is best for them? (And please, no $40-a-bag stuff)

3. How do I get them to start eating dry food and drinking from a bowl?

4. At what age can I start giving them away?

Please help! Thanks

Yes, do you mean weaned??

If you do then the kittens should NOT be weaned until 8-9 weeks old.

Do not start placing them in their new homes until they are at least 10 weeks old.

A good dry food to start them off on is Royal Canin Babycat.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but the kittens aren't going to grow any wings.

Threw me as well. I was thinking messybeast and their article on cats with wings (there really is such a genetic defect).

They will start sampling other food- generally canned or formula at 7 weeks old.

Iams kitten food is a good start for them- but don't give them just dry right away, give them Iam's canned kitten food first.

Ideally they will be ready for a new home at 12 weeks and momcat should be spayed after the kittens are weaned-

Same here MA!

Also we have found that NONE of the kittens we have ever bred have liked Iams Kitten. Don't know why. RC is much more appealing.
