LOL! Just kidding (maybe)

I certainly don't share his musical tastes, but for some reason I found this very funny. Okay guys rev your engines...

Lol, I have "My Sharona" on my iPod also. I just think it's a funny song.

Ugh, how pathetic that they're psychoanalyzing his music. I'd be afraid if someone checked out my iPod... I have some embarassing songs on there! Gotta love guilty pleasures!

Really, what did one expect?
In the immortal words of Eric Cartman....
"Lame...so lame...."
hehe

i think that is hilarous.

You need a reason?

Any little thing! That is absolutely ridiculous. What difference does it make what kind of music he likes? I thought it was really cool that he invited Brian Setzer (Stray Cats) to sing at the White House Christmas party during his first term. A lot of people his age don't listen to more modern music. I certainly do not like most of the trash clogging up the airwaves, whether it be the violent racist hip-hop and rap, the generic pop-country bimbos, or most of the crap they call rock and roll now. I particularly hate pop "divas" and the horrible caterwauling of modern R&B. It's a generational thing. Would you feel better if he listened to fifty-cent, or Britney Spears?

Who cares what hes listening to?? I listen to Eminem it doesnt mean im gonna go out and kill someone. This is as bad as everyone wanting to know who was on paris hiltons cell phone...

Sounds a lot like my music collection Mine is heavy on Sinatra, Ray Charles, Motown, 50s & 60s and country. Better that the Prez listens to that, than misogynistic violence-inciting rap.

Bet that he doesn't have any Dixie Chicks, though.

No Beatles?!? What a shame...

Honestly though, I'm surprised this is "news".

Slow news week: Charles and Camilla are still married, the Michael Jackson trial grinds on, Terri Schiavo, Prince Rainier and the Pope are still dead and a new Pope isn't elected yet.

How about the slime-mold beetles named in honor of Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld?

While this isn't exactly newsworthy, I did find it interesting how narrow his music choices are: no women, no gay artists, no blacks.... if music is a reflection of the soul, this only confirms my feelings about Shrub....

Shrub?? I like that! Good one.

I thought he had some Joni Mitchell on his I-Pod?

I guess you could probably think almost the same of me, except that I do have female artists in my collection. Gay artists? The only one I know of for sure (although I'm sure some of my goth collection has some...) is Rob Halford from Judas Priest. No blacks unless you count Public Enemy performing on ONE song with Anthrax (Bring the Noize). Am I prejudice? Well, no... I happen to like heavy metal, country and some goth and industrial music, and there aren't many minorities making that music.

He's into what he listened to as a youth, much as we all are (or will be), and Country, which isn't a surprise either. OK, he *could* have more women on the playlist, but let's face it...beyond Jimi Hendrix there weren't a whole lot of black artists making the style of music he likes, Charlie Pride is about the only black Country artist I can think of. There aren't any gay Country artists that I can think of. (I can't really comment on who of the 60's-early 70's artists has come out...)

I guess it comes down to this: If you already hate him, this will just add another reason if you don't like his taste in music. But I don't think anyone should be totally overanalyzed, psychoanalyzed and judged by what is on their iPod. Just gives me another reason not to buy one.

Especially since an aide downloaded the songs, and therefore probably influenced the choices to some extent.
I have to laugh about this, because if anybody checked out my 52-year-old husband's MP3 player, they'd only find Avril Lavigne and Rammstein, thanks to our niece and nephew!

"My Sharona" has one of the toughest guitar leads out there (and a killer one at that), and it's a classic song. It's upbeat and in all honesty, who cares if it's about an older dude hankering for a younger woman??? I mean really.

Thing is, music is an OUTLET for the soul, not a MIRROR. Me with Godsmack blaring in my car on the way home will prove that... it's just an outlet.

And as for W, "My Sharona" is merely a fun thing to listen to while the Prez cycles. Doesn't mean he's riding around thinking about younger women. Maybe he likes the cool guitar lead.
