okay, i have ringworm all over my legs and stomach and i have nooooo clue where it came from... i am so freaking out, i just scrubbed myself down in the shower, i am washing everything in the house and disinfecting, i have checked my husband over, i didnt see anything and i have also checked sara over and i have found nothing on her... i have also been watching her to see if she is scratching and she isnt...

if she doesnt already have it, can she get it from me if i keep all the areas that i have it covered up, i went to the store to get anti-fungal cream to put on me until i can go to the doctor on monday, and i am taking sara to the vet in the morning..... my mom said that they should have a pill they can give her instead of the creams and stuff.... is that true... that would be so much easier

this sucks, my entire body itches and i feel sooo dirty. i just want to get in the shower and stay there....

if anyone can offer any advice for now, i would really appreciate it, any past experiences too or helpful tricks(Like for decontamination)

thanks!

My kittens all have ringworm and according to the vet it is pretty common in cats. It is also transferable to people. My sister was told to use Tinactin on her skin for ten days straight and her ringworm disappeared completely. Also wash bedding daily in hot water.

Your cat more than likely has it, so do not touch her. Get her to the vet as soon as possible, the vet will put her under a light and find the ringworm quick enough. The fungas reacts to the air, that is what makes you itch. If it were just a small area, you could block the air with a liquid bandage or nail polish. But as wide of an area as it seems you have it, that wouldn't be feasible.

We have had ringworm on more then once occasion with the cats. Luckily I've never caught it. Take Sara to the vet, it's more than likely that she will have it.

Its not dangerous so try not to panic. It's just a fungus and it will respond to treatment, and now that its in your environment there probably isn't much you can do to keep the other people and animals from getting, althought they may not get it as it isn't super contagious. Avoid sun exposure to the welts, and use anti fungal cream and your doctor can prescribe other meds as well. At this point, "not touching" another animal or person isn't likely to have much effect, as you are covered in it and the spores are probably everywhere. I know this will sound weird, but try to "relax and enjoy it". It will go away in a few weeks.

took sara to the vet today, it is nowhere on her, but that doesnt mean that she wont develop it... the vet did give me a shampoo to use on her once a week until mine is completley gone... i didnt find it anywhere on my hubby either... so it is possible that i got it from my microbiology class... all the people in my group are vet-techs, so i could have got it from one of them... but i am going to the doctor on monday

it is nowhere on my upper body, so i have just been keeping my lower body covered and i wash my hands after EVERYthing, hopefully i wont get it anywhere else, i started using the anti-fungal cream last night...

thanks for the input
