Someone please tell me what could be wrong!!!
I posted a new thread on here called "WHAT COULD BE WRONG" about 4 days ago.
If you read that one it will explain everything.

For those of you who have read my other thread....
Garfield still has blood in his stool. HIs eyes are a little better from the antibiotic given and the eye cream but the blood in his stool still really bothers me. It is blood but also mucasy.
He has lots of energy and eats great and drinks well too. But when he has to go to poopy.. he cant hold it at all. It is very loose stool.
UGHHH it just breaks my heart knowing something is wrong with him. I ahve only had him 6 days but we love him so.
We are going out of town for a few days so I took himt o my vet to be watched and taken care of there. Well on the way there I out him in a cat cage carrier. HE FREAKED OUT!!!!!! He was shaking and throwing himself around the carrier. Just went nuts in there!!!! Sticking his paws out and scratching the seat. And SCREAMING!!!! It was so scary. What could this be? The vet said something about "Temper" something. But he didnt seem very worried. He told me he would take good care of him while I am gone.
Can someone help me understand?
Thank you

Well, I really like the fact that he will be staying at a vet's while you are gone...
And some cats do react badly to a carrier..they hiss and/or cry or scratch to get out..
However, do you have to go away at this time?
I am worried this will stress this little guy further and if he is already sick with bloody stool, it sounds like a bad time to go away, especially if he has only been with you under a week.

What did the vet say about the bloody stool?

I will be sure to follow your advice, I do not want her to have any more after this.
Thanks a million.
Yep! Learned that the hard way!!! Had one cat that kept having kittens because she'd have a litter, and then be pregnant before the week is over!!!

I LOVE the name garfield!!! that was my favorite cartoon growing up! in fact i bought the first 2 seasons on dvd!!!
I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I think right now at the vet is the best place for him. I dont remember if you said how old he is, but make sure he is getting the right kind of food for his age, and if possible try to feed him what the petstore was feeding him. Its possible something upset his tummy. granted something else is going on, but if he is adjusting to a new food, or a formula that is too old for him it could cause some digestive problems like runny stools or vomiting. Be sure your little guy is getting enough water... maybe even try to give him pedalite so he doesnt get dehydtrated... anyway.. congrats on your new friend, and good healthy vibes coming his way!

If you are in the US, your 8 week old kitten is almost old enough to be nuetured...2lb and up and they are fine.......please do so. And I would advise having the kittens fixed/ all shots BEFORE finding them homes so this does not happen again.

I don't want to preach her...but the *miracle of birth* for your girls, is the #1 reason why hundreds of thousands of cats are put to death each year. PLEASE do not let her out and spay her asap.

Here is the good news.... When I picked up Garfield today at the vets they told me that they ruled out Dis-Temper. He had a very, very bad case of "coccidia oocysts"
But he is much better. He looks better. Thanks to all of you for your support.

AWWWW, Thanks so much!!

I am feeding Garfield and Lilo both Science diet for kittens. I am feeding it to LILO b/c she is prego and the vet says she needs a kitten food while she is pregnant and nursing. And honestly, I hate to even imagine what the pet store was feeding him.

Now.. can anyone tell me how ya'll get ya'lls babies pics on here? LOL

Do make sure both cats are treated for parasites - one of mine picked up Coccidia and the vet advised me to treat all of them at the same time.

To post pictures, you have to go through an image hosting service. You have to do this, because you are still a kitten, and can not post attachments. I would recommend Photobucket because:
1) It's free
2) It's easy to navigate and use
3) It has it in an
format already
4) Many people here on TCS use it.

After you have signed up, and put your pictures on the web hosting service of your choice, you simply post the image format here. The image format will look a like this: (Don't click on it. It'll bring you nowhere.) Also, there should be no spaces between the and the web address.

If you have any more questions about this, feel free to ask! Many people are here to help, and I will help as much as possible!
