Hello from Alabama :-)

I've been lurking a bit on here for the past couple of weeks or so, and thought I'd introduce myself so that if the urge should come to post, it won't come as a total surprise!

I live in Central Alabama (Birmingham area) and have had cats all my life, except for the last year and a half or so after we had to have our 12.5 year old Melichus put down due to inoperable bone cancer. Married for 17+ years, no kids except for those of the finned and furred kind. I'm a huge (pun intended ) Maine Coon fan and am now waiting (impatiently!) for our two new boys to get old enough to come home! It has been so long since I've had any kittens in the house --- we are looking forward to having two of them with eager anticipation (and perhaps a bit of trepidation as I think of all the "kitten proofing" I need to do!)

I'm also a SAHW (Stay-At-Home-Wife) although I give new meaning to the term "homemaker" as I work on repairing and re-modeling the fixer-upper house we bought from my in-laws a few years back. Before I left the work-force some 10+ years ago my training was in data-entry and I can still swing a mean keyboard to the point that I can type about as fast as I can think which makes for some rather long posts sometimes, although I do try to pare them down before hitting that final button!

Well, my goodness Cindy! We were through Jasper just the other day while moving my 87 year young mum to an assisted living facility in Hamilton. My brother lives in Detroit not too far from there.

Cindy, there should have been a cuteness warning with that picture, they're adorable! It is a small world, isn't it? Do you guys use what used to be 78 to come thru here, or do you take the new corridor x? We have a store on 78(118, whatever), just after you pass thru the redlight where KFC/Captain D's is.....

Hi welcome to the site.

I know I've probably seen it, but we were extremely tired driving the rental truck back the other day and I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention. We've really only been out there a couple of times. My sister and BIL live in Chattanooga in the other direction and we tend to go visit them more as we're more "compatible" with them I guess you'd say. My brother's really mundane but my sister's a lot of fun .
