Ok, so my boss is on a hiring binge although we do not need any more stylists in the salon! She is totally out of control and we've been trying to get her to stop her erratic behavior for quite some time.( I swear she's bipolar) She constantly talks behind peoples backs ( and of course it gets back to us) She is rude to clients,so the end up not comming back. She is always talking about how miserable her marrige is, even to her clients! And she leaves huge notes around the salon barking orders at people like we're in the 1st grade. She degrates people in front of clients and thats just the beginining!

Since we work for a large corporation we have written bad reviews about her,and she denies any wrong doing. I have personally sat down with her and told her that her attitude effects everyone, and suggested she take an antidepressant ( BUT I SWEAR THIS WOMAN LOVES BEING MISERABLE)
That worked for about a week. She is totally afraid to confront ME b/c I dont put up with any B.S. and she is afraid I'll quit.None us us have b/c we all love each other so much.We have gone to our distirict manager but it has only made things worse.
So now she has hired a guy who we all really dislike! In the weeks he has been working with us he has already called out 4 times, he has been late twice, wednesday 3 hours late! ::censor::censor::censor:: He's a total Bull ****er the guy lies about everything its really sad! When he was hired he claimed to have a large clientelle but only two of his clients have come in ( in three weeks) But the main problem is HE"S CREEPY!
He is always touching the girls and making comments that are suggestive . When no one else wanted to say anything I got assigned the job of telling my boss.
I let her Know that none of us were comfortable with working with him and made it clear to her that he does not have any clients. WELL she tells me " I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!" What ?I said you are the manager you have to hear about it! She says I think he is a nice guy and I dont want him to think you guys ars talking about him!
[/i]So what do we do? Obiviously she's not about to deal with the situation! I told the girls that when and if they feel uncomfortable to document it . What do you guys think we should do?

I am sure someone will have better constructive advice, but in the meantime...document every bit of unprofessional behavior by him - especially anything (if there is) that would be considered sexual harrassment. Notify her when you have several incidents - in writing - and send a copy to her boss at the same time. I can not imagine the company would continue to support a manager with poor judgement, and if she ignores any well documented incidents of sexual harrassment (if there are any), it isn't going to go over well.

Or...you can document, present to her first, tell her if she does not deal with it, you'll take it to her boss - but it doesn't sound as if she's a manager you feel should stay based on all her actions.

Anyhoo...not sure the above is the way to go, I'll be interested to see what others say. As far as Mr. handson goes...make sure each of you gives him a clear (heard by others) message to stop it when each incident happens..call him on it each time. It may at least get him to stop.

She always meets goal b/c we are a very busy shop but she is always blowing the budget on things we dont need or sell. And yes my district manager thinks she's wonderful b/c she sees a whole different side of her than we do. She did show up unexpectedly once and told my manager to take the signs down but as son as she left they went right back up!

Hide a video camera in there for a week or so. This way her actions as well as the creepy guys comments are documented and they can not deny them. Then, ALL of you girls go confront the district manager.

Keep us posted.

Heres an idea as well : Write to the district manager about your concerns and the type of coworker incidents now. Have the rest of your team sign the letter. Your manager has already crossed a MAJOR line in not listening to your complaint in earnest, and will not shape up on her own. This is not the kind of situation that you should not wait on, someone bordering on sexual harassment like that IS just a ticking time bomb who shouldnt be allowed to go off. Since you manager has clearly demonstrated that she wont listen to you and take you seriously, you need to clearly demonstrate to her that this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. District manager could stand up to one of you for her, but not the whole team. This can all be done in a super professional "concerned" way. Then, you wont look like you are out to get anyone, and hopefully the message will be received. Good luck, and definately document what you can. A big list of examples says A LOT.
