One more newbie!

Howdy all!

My name is Pat and I live in NYC. My furry family consists of 3 cats, Taz (also known as Teezee) who is a huge 13 year old, 30 lb. red & white tabby boy; Smidge, my 10 year old grey & white mix tabby boy (a wacko); and our newest addition, Solo, a 9 week old pure black half persian fur ball. She's the lunatic of the group, causing chaos at every turn (and we love it!!).

The love of my life, Inky , was my beatuiful, sleek, intelligent and very special 13 year old black cat died on February 5th from Lymphoma. He was just so incredible and I still can't believe he's gone. It's amazing what a huge hole those little angels leave when they aren't around.

Any way.... I'm glad I found this site since I love telling and hearing animal stories!

There was one thing I failed to mention in my "hello" post, which may not be all that interesting to you guys , but I love telling this story that I think is very special.

We knew Inky wasn't going to be with us too much longer and my husband had a friend who had a pregnant cat. Meow (her name) had previously had 4 litters of 4 babies and was on #5. My husband was at their house and looked down at Meow and said "please, please give us a black kitten, Meow." Her owner said "nope... in all the litters, she's never given birth to a black one."

Well, need I say it? Birth day comes and there's one little bitty jet black baby... ONE BABY!!! So, appropriately, she was named Solo.

I am also new and just posted my story. I read your story and just had to tell you that I lost my Moose in January from kidney failure due to poor dental health. He was my pure black, 16lb baby boy. The void he left in my life was so unbearable. I didnt think I would ever recover. Thank you for posting your story. I dont feel so alone now.
