At the kitty's beck and call
Adelaide is our former feral. Now that she's settled at home she enjoys an hour or two in "her" garden now each (dry) day. She plods around for a bit, tortures the hanging branches on the little weeping cherry, then spends some time "supervising" the chickens.

Then she decides it's time to come back in - which is what she's doing here:

Come on then - open the door:

Pretty please:

Who could refuse?

Thanks Diane and Wenzee.

It's nice to see you again! Yes she certainly is well fed - part of the reason we let her out again once she was settled, she was so used to being outside that she got really bored inside and would just sleep all day.....and EAT! When we took her to the vet to be spayed, the Vet thought she could lose a pound or so and believe it or not - she has done
.

She has been known to creep into the kitchen and munch Lily's kitten food when nobody's looking

Aw, thanks! I've been so busy since we moved...and with getting my pet sitting business off the ground. But now I got a new lap top computer and plan to be here more often! I've missed this place so much!!

Linda, Beryl, Tricia, Chris, Ari and Vi04 thanks
.

She's certainly come a long way since we first dragged her inside and shut the doors last November.

Susan, Sam and Dan - thank you.

Yes, Susan - she was feral. I first found TCS because this little feral, who I'd seen on and off for a year or so (but didn't know she was homeless then) used to show up outside our conservatory doors sometimes. It's no surprise - the conservatory is where CAT FOOD lives
. Being the mad cat woman I am, I chat to all kitties in my garden, but this one would streak away like lightening if I went our to talk to her.

I got really worried about her last winter, because she was round every night looking for food and absolutely ravenous. I searched the internet and found TCS!!!!
and I got wonderful help from those in the feral forum.

She has a thread there - but the initial part about her trapping and socialisation was lost in the crash http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38230

She spent the first few minutes inside leaping to the top of every window in the conservatory. The first few days howling all night long to be let out. And...she was so frightened wouldn't come anywhere near us. But, she developed a taste for classical music, particularly choral music when we put a radio in with her on Classic FM; and with a lot of love and patience on our part and trememdous bravery on hers, we were able to develop a relationship.

The poor kitty was so traumatised she would tremble if we went near her, didn't know how to play and was terrified of hands.

Now, she's a wonderfully well-adjusted all things considered

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Oh good grief i've just read all of that and i've filled up

Beth i have to give you and your family a huge round of applause for everything you've done for Adelaide, not to mention the patience you've had in handling this

I often wonder if Rosie and Sophie know how well looked after they are?, but with having them from the age of 6 weeks they don't know any different, but after Adelaides story, this little girl will know thats for sure!!
