Reading the vibes thread about the drivers test made me think of this.....what have you done to cars that you were driving?

I backed my dad's van into a car when I was 18

I backed my expedition into my dad's acura several years ago

I backed my mom and dad's trooper into the dumpster behind our store a couple of years ago....

Well, I don't drive but I have shut my fingers in the trunk (had to stand there waiting with all of my fingers slammed in the trunk for my brother to come back with the keys...and also shut them in the car door!

When I was 16, i rear-ended my friend's brand new Monte Carlo and pushed her out into an intersection! haha! I can only laugh because it was late at night and no cars were out. Otherwise it would not have been funny.

Also when i was 16 I drove my BRAND NEW (at the time) 2000 Mustang into a ditch really late one night because a friend and I were messing with the CD player. OUCH!!! It was my baby!

One time it was raining really hard and my car was blocked in at the dealership where my dad works, so he let me take his truck. Well, he has a sweet brand-new Ford F-150
and I got in it, and backed up really fast. Well, it was raining so hard and i was in such a hurry to get in the truck that i didn't notice that a car was parked REALLY close behind him. Well, his truck sits up so high, that i could not tell in the rear-view mirror that a car was behind him. I put it in reverse and back-up too fast and hit the car behind his truck. His truck didn't feel a thing cause his trailer hitch thingy was sticking out and it punctured the back fender-thingy of the car. I mean there was a perfectly round hole in their car. I was young and stupid and never told anyone. I never knew who's car it was, but i felt HORRIBLE. Lord forgive me!

Can't think of anything else at the moment, but I'm sure there are more!

When I was in Junior High a few friends and I turned another friends VW Beatle upside down (with our hands). It was a prank and back then was considered good ole fun. Today I think they call it a felony.

When I was in high school, my friend, who didn't have a license, and I used to 'tandem drive'. He steered from the passenger seat and I worked the gas and brake. How I am not dead, I'll never know.

When I was 15, I drove my dad's truck into our neighbor's firewood pile. I let the clutch out too fast and mistook the gas for the brake...firewood everywhere!!! The truck wasn't damaged. But it was funny.
(That was the first time I had driven, by the way. lol)

Raced a sportscar in our van thatwas at least 12 years older than the car. I won. (I had right of way and I was going to keep it!)

Then I made a 2 1/2 hour drive (no interstates!) in 2 hours.

Took a double curve on a county road at 50mph. (Posted speed limit was 15mph.)

My Mom dented 4 fenders on 3 vehicles at one time while learning to drive.

My sister stuffed 12 people and a bicycle in our station wagon.

I've been lucky to not be in an accident yet but I did walk into a parked car once...

haha, i love reading all of these!!

When I was 21 I backed my parents GMC Envoy out of the garage but misjudged how much room I had and ended up taking out the sideview mirror.

That same year I was on a retreat with my college in the mountains. Near the campsite there was not much light and I was having trouble finding our cabin. I ended up driving my car into a ditch. My and the friend I was with had to search for the cabin by foot in the dark and I ended up stepping wrong and spraining my ankle!
Finally we found the cabin and another friend had to use his truck to pull my car out of the ditch. Fortunately there was no damage to the car just my foot.

I drove my '72 Pinto wagon into the ocean, a truck driver with a winch pulled me out.
I lost brakes on this same Pinto wagon, snatched up the emergency brake, spun 3 times up a hill and lodged it between 2 pine trees.
I was having a "Dukes Of Hazzard" moment, and decided to run from the cops in my '71 Road Runner down some backwoods country roads in Georgia. I took down a line of fence and rolled several times. It landed on it's wheels and I ended up driving it home. The only reason he was chasing me was because he thought I was his nephew that I had bought the car from a few days earlier. We pulled the dents out with a plunger and it was fine. That was a tough old car!

When I was 16 (one week from being 17 and the day after Valentine's Day) I rear ended this girls brand new Mustang while driving down A1A after school. She slammed on her brakes and my '90 Plymouth Acclaim (oh the embarrassment of that car) didn't quite stop as quickly as hers did and slammed right into her. What was really embarrassing were all of the kids from school driving by, waving and honking at us.
The next day in school kids I didn't know were coming up to me and congratulating me on hitting this girls car (she was highly unliked). I couldn't believe how obnoxious some people could be!!

1. When I was 15 I took used the car of the people I was babysitting and drove one of the girls to a birthday party. I proceeded to drive the other girl around this nearby lake to see who was there. Yes the parents were already home when I got back!!

2. I was 16 and my sister and I were trying to get out of giving a kid a ride after a baseball game. One of us was driving and the passenger door of the truck was open and when we backed up we hit a tree with the door (which didn't close.)

3. I was still in my teens-I didn't drive the truck far enough into the garage so I was standing outside the truck, started it and put it in drive-not remembering how the truck was going to stop. Well it stopped when it hit the lawnmower and tried to push it into the wall!!

4. I've carried a 300 LB pumpkin around in my explorer for a whole weekend when my husband was out of town.

My best was probably when I was 17 or 18 and skipped school and "borrowed" my mom's car to drive to the city an hour away. I was backing into a parking space next to a large cement column and scraped the entire passenger side, knocking off my mirror and everything before I realized that I should stop. It's really funny to look back now but then it was awful.

I also once backed into my bf at the time's truck which was parked behind me in my parents driveway..

Loving my beautiful baby girl
I've done plenty, I'll hit the highlights here.
When I was 16, rearended someone brand new car that he had bought that week. What kind of place was that for a stop sign, anyway!
Crunched up my bumper, but really did alot of damage to his car.
Again 16, backed into a friend of mine's car pulling out of a driveway. Just a dent which was easily fixed.
When I was 17, pulled out in front of someone. Fortunately the speed limit was only 35. This time, it was their bumper crunched. My car was rather smashed on one side.
Again, when I was 17 on the way to school pulled out of my driveway in front of an 18 wheeler. It just hit the front and took the bumper right off. Fortunately I wasn't a couple of seconds sooner pulling out or it would have smushed me for sure.
20, smashed the back end of a car that had stopped to turn left. What was he thinking turning there?
Messed up both cars.
Believe it was my 22nd Birthday, I backed straight into of friend's ditch. It had to be pulled out of the ditch, but no real damage.
When I was 23, I was on the way home at night from a case about 2 hours from home. My company paid for my hotel to work there several days in a row. I could have stayed that extra night, but wanted to go home. Have always wished now I had stayed. Anyway, it was raining pretty hard, but I was still going at least 70. I hydroplaned and lost control. My car turned around in so many circles, and then I ran off into a ravine. Pretty scary! Broke my nose on the steering wheel~ouch! Don't know why the airbag didn't work.
I plan to never again have anything to add to this thread!

The Fire Hydrant Incident - When I was about 17, I borrowed my Dad's Chevy Lumina to go to the gym in my town. Well, I as I was backing up, I accidently side-swipped a fire hydrant when I was leaving. I was in tears, scared to death that I would never be able to see the light of day again. Well, my Dad comes out, looks at the car as my Mother was standing there hugging me. Well he's mad, but not at me!

Come to find out that a deer hit his car several months before and bodyshop guy was supposed to replace the entire door. As we stood there looking at all the body filler falling out of the door, my Dad was too livid at the bodyshop guy for lying to him and committing fraud that I ended up getting off scott free!!!
