Are all cats picky about their food? I'm in South America and we don't get that many brands of cat food to choose from. I used to get him Nutrience and now I bought ANF because I know those two are probably the healthiest we get. The others are Whiskas and Purina, I believe. I think there might be one called Star Pro as well.

Anyway, I once bought Whiskas and mixed it in with Nutrience, only a bit and he'd only eat the Whiskas! He's doing the same now. He liked ANF ok but he just doesn't eat much, except when there's some Purina stuff in there, that he WILL eat.

So what do I do? Do I go for the better food and ignore the fact that he's not eating as much? Or do I go for the cheaper food that he likes better? I used to think "He won't starve, the food's there" but it breaks my heart to see he's hungry but he's playing the anorexic so I give him the stuff he likes better. Such a dilemma

Have you talked to your vet?? some vets carry non rx foods that are better than grocery... Can you order via online?? Have you thought about homemade??

I'm feeding my kitten Hill's Prescription diet and she doesn't eat the recommened amount, which worries me. She is gaining weight though and my vet says she looks healthy so I think she is ok. If your cat is maintaining a good weight, I don't think you should worry about it. Talk to your vet and see what they say....

He is maintaining his weight. He's not skinny, he's just a slim cat. I still wish he'd eat more dry food
I think it also has to do with the fact that I feed him wet food in the evenings and he likes that so much better, he'd rather wait for that hehe

Wet food for a cat is actully a bit better than dry since cats arent h2o drinkers
