Hello, I'm new here. I have two fur-kids. Romeo Cat, a black and white domestic sweethart and Chloe Cat, a white and tabby newbie to the family.

Chloe Cat has a tail issue.

I've recently adopted a stray kitten, Chloe Cat (about 5-6mo). She seems to have had a rough little life until I found her. She's doing great now and has all her shots and been spayed. About 1 inch of the tail is really hard and dry and it ends in a scap that goes around the tail above which the normal heathy tail tissue starts. I guess it was frost bite or an injury that cut off the blood flow. I've had 2 vets look at it and both said ambutation is not really urgent but is an option. But it would eventually just fall off on it's own. I'm to keep an eye on it.

It does not seem to hurt nor does she care. Anybody else seen this kind of thing? She goes back to the vet in a few weeks. I'm keeping an eye on it!

Anyone

I'd just let them amputate it. This is a common injury to outside cats especially those in severe weather conditions.

If it's not gone by our next vet visit (or earilier it it starts to look bad) I'll discuss it with the vet. Thanks.

Yellow-flower and Chloe and Romeo.
