Cleo just begane labor about 30 min ago. She ploped down in front of use and started having contractions so we got a warm towle to put around her well just a minute ago she hoped into her birthing box and is having heavy labor. I am a wreak and so afraid.

I have seen some blood coming out. She is grooming herself and purring.

What color is the blood? Pinkish?

The blood was dark red. How long can a cat be in labor before kittens are born.

Hmmm...one hour of heavy labor is in the right ballpark. Depends on a lot, though.

Must be like waiting for Christmas morning, huh?

Hang in there!

Relax, most cats have no problem at all giving birth. You might ring your vet and just let them know the event is starting. I always do this as a safeguard. I find when I know there is excellent help available the less things go wrong.

Did you see the link above for The Pregnancy Report website? It's stuck on one of the threads above. Might be a good distraction while you are waiting.

A little bit of blood is normal - kittens are on the way!

OK, you'll see a bubble emerge and that is going to be a kitten encased in the sac - Momma should push baby right out and begin to lick around Baby's head and face to release the sac ... if she doesn't, you will have to, so be prepared. I know you've read all the sticky posts I left about delivery so you pretty much know what's going to happen and how to deal with it. Just remember to breathe and if things don't look like they are going right, pack everything up and get thee to the vet.

You'll be fine. Update us when you can.

Thanks I have been reading everything I can but I think it all seeped out once she started the contractions...lol. I have everything standing by if need be and the vet is only 5 minutes away. I will keep everyone updated.

I know you have to be anxious, I'm so excited for the day mine arrive. It's almost worse than having your own kids I swear! I mean you feel so helpless. Congratulations!!!!
