I have my newest 8 month kitten for 3 days now..she is getting use to me coming in the room by her. My other 2 cats(all female by the way) are kept seperate from her...my question...how long should I wait before I crack the bedroom door so they can see each other? I dont want to rush things with them but at the same time I would like all 3 of them to get use to see each other at least...any suggestions would be very helpful..thanks!!

i kept mine seperate for a week but after the first day i would let them see each other every day. at first there was a lot of hissing on the original cats part. after about the fourth day that tailed off and i let them be together in the new cats room. once the open hostility started i seperated them. after day 7 i let them both roam free. there was still a little tension at times but after a few days of this i found them curled up snoozing together.

BUT, it's important to note that all cats are different and you'll have to adjust according to yours.

has there been a lot of growling/hissing through the door? it could be time to let them take a good look at each other.

Has your kitten been vet-checked? Don't rush the intros, cats are patient creatures, it is us who are impatient.

nope...no growling through the door..actually my 2 cats have been really curious as to the kitten behind the door..I think they just dont quite have her figured out yet...I will try the crack at the door tomorrow after work while I can be there to monitor...at least for a few minutes a day....the kitten has been to the vet already. All 3 have been fixed and declawed so I know they wont be major damage if they do collide...

Because you have had the cats declawed, they still will bite- that is their only recourse if they have no claws-

Good luck

Since curiosity doesnt mean they wont attack her it is good that you will be monitoring them, expect some hissing and growling which in my experience could go on for weeks, but if you are lucky you wont have any problems and they will all live happily ever after, some of my cats get along really well at first and sometimes they just dont like each other 2 of mine (Kaya and Tigger) still hiss at each other from time to time but have learned to live with each other. The younger they are the more responsive they are to other animals b/c they tend to remember their litter mates and the pack mentality,Good luck!
