Hi, I'm after a bit of advice about my 3 year old ginger cat called Hobbes. He is a very happy and affectionate cat with two companions and they all get on very well. The only thing is he continuously washes his belly to the point there is no fur on it!! As far as I can see the skin is healthly looking with no red or sore patches. Do I just have an obsessive compulsive cat or is there something else going on?

Two things usually cause this. One being that he is obsessive compulsive, but usually they show other signs like being nervous about things and something triggers them to lick. The most common reason for licking in this area is a food or inhaled allergy. Food is #1 and inhaled is #2.
