If you remember, a while back Susie (kittylover4ever) went to the dentist... which inspired me to call up a dentist and make an appointment of my own.
I haven't been in years so I'm terrified... I don't like dentists to begin with (ow, they always hurt me!), and I'm scared he'll tell me that I have like a million cavities or need some other expensive dental work that I can't afford.
So if any of you have some calming and healthy teeth vibes you can send my way Monday afternoon, I'd appreciate it.

Oh dear, I've heard too many horror stories about root canals. I'll be thinking of you when you're getting yours done!

Well at least we're doing the right thing and taking care of our teeth. Thanks for pushing me to get the appointment MA, by the way... my teeth surely thank you.

Ari, MA, let's face it, most of us would rather be ANYWHERE else than a dentist chair, but I've found out that taking care of our teeth is as important as taking care of the rest of us..........I'll be ok ladies, I promise!

Well when I built the website, I discovered that putting off dental work can literally cost you dearly and I don't mean just financially- I will be thinking good thoughts for you as well- me- I am contemplating biting my dentist! HARD!

Don't bite him, he might hold out on the pain killers!

It is good to go to the dentist regularly, both for dental and mental health! LOL! I have gone for long periods of time without dental visits, but currently have a regular dentist, and he is not scary, because I know him well.

He has even done a root canal for me, and it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. No biting!

I'm glad you're going, too, Ari. It's not worth it in the long run to ignore your teeth.

I was supposed to go last week, but the hygenist had to cancel her appointment with me. I have to remember to reschedule.

I know this sounds crazy but I love getting my teeth cleaned ,probably because I've only had 2 cavities in my whole life. Hope you have a nice easy visit and dont let the dentist give you any bs like mine did, he tryed to charge me over a thousand dollars to get my old cavities filled with porcealin (you can't even see them) urhh ...I should've been a dentist.

Ari your doing the right thing by going!

I hate the dentist as well but i make sure i go every year, the only problem i have with my dentist is the fact that he has a large poster of different puppies pinned to his ceiling to distract the patients
not that thats a bad thing!, but i think it's time that we got to see some kitties now!

At the kitty's beck and call
Awww Ari - I'll be thinking of you and sending you lots of calming vibes.

When I was 18 I started going to the Dentist again having not been for 6 years - I had some unpleasant experiences at my childhood dentist.

When I started to go again I explained that I was a nervous patient - the two dentists I've had since then have been wonderful, and knowing I'm a nervous patient work extra hard to make me feel comfortable. I've been going every 6 months for 22 years now, and although I still get nervous, I trust my dentist absolutely. With the hygiene programme I have and a good dentist I haven't had or needed any treatment at all, not even at the hygienist in over 6 years.

So don't worry - it will be ok and don't forget to let the dentist know that you need to be treated sympathetically.

I'll be thinking of you.
