I captured a pregnant feral cat about a month ago. Is there any way I can tell how far along she is. The babies are moving more. You can kind of feel there outlines. She looks like she can't possibly get any bigger. She is having some mood swings. She will be rubbing all over you then she just turns around and attacks you. There is some flinching in her back and sides. I have never had a pregnant before.

I can't pick her up. I trapped her in a create that I was feeding her in. She won't go near any type of box at this point. I had to remove the create after I let her out of it. She wouldn't come out from under the bed in my spare room until it was gone. I have no experience with cats. I just couldn't let her have the babies outside. I am still trying to figure out how I going to get her to the vet to be spayed, once the kittens are weaned. Any advice on how to catch her without getting torn up.

She sounds close- I would urge you to after the kittens are born, to not touch them until they are about 2 weeks old. If mom hasn't bonded with you, and you try to touch one of her babies, she will attack you, and trust me, you won't see it coming. Put her in a room, make sure there are nice, safe warm places she can hide and have her kids.

Here is an article I wrote about handling feral cats, but pregnant ones are very touchy- and will easily attack you-

Try putting her Food in the crate...I have a cat that got out of the house and she was feral. She was spayed as a kitten, after she grew up you couldn't get near her, then one day she got out. I still can't catch her. But she hangs around the house and I feed her. But I felt she hated it in the house she attacked everyone. That's when I got my Raggie kitten, which is much friendlier. I'm glad that you taken in the cat, I hope you can tame her down and also the kittens she has. It takes a special person to take in a cat that is preggers.
Good Luck!

She is alone in the spare room. As soon we walk in to the room she gets up comes to us and wants to be pet. Sometimes after petting and rubbing her belly for 30-45 minutes, she turns and scratches and bites.

The way I got her in the house was by putting in the food in the create and closing it on her. We had been feeding her for a month or two. She is so sweet, but doesn't want to be picked up. I tried once a couple of weeks ago and she flipped. I didn't think it was good to put her under that stress. Also, I am afraid I will hurt the babies.

Well it's good she is affection, but 30-40 minutes is way to long to pet a cat. You are overstimulating her. Cut it down to occassional pets, and not very long in duration. Purchase a cat toy called Da Bird and use that to interact with her, strays love this toy and it keeps you out of their scratching and biting area- because they play with the toy not you. But she should see a vet, there is no telling if she is "really" healthy or not.

The feral that I took in bit me a couple times when I would touch her somehwere "new", and then I guess she realized that I didn't hurt her so the next time she didn't bite. I did have to be very patient and have been feeding her for probably 4 - 5 months now. One thing that helped us bond was I would eat something and share it with her. First it would have to be several feet away, then eventually she would take it out of my hands. I know you're running out of time a bit, but taking baby steps helped us. She's now been living in our house for 3 weeks and is a perfect lady!
