When you eat a baked potato, do you like to eat the skin and insides, or just the insides???

Me personally, I love both!

Skins and all. The skin contains so much that's good for you. I don't worry about eating the skin anywhere else - it's been baked long and hard in a good hot oven, any germs will be long gone. If there's any dirt left - it's probably full of minerals anyway

While I have to agree that baking it would probably kill any baddies left on the outside if it hadn't been properly washed, I still just can't get by it ... I stand firm on what I said earlier - if I wash it, I eat the whole thing, but otherwise, the skin gets left.

When I was growing up, I ONLY ate the skins (loaded with butter) when we had baked taters. I hated the insides.
But now I love both, but still prefer the skins.

I have seen some reasteraunts "roll" the potato chunks of salt. Ick! Only eat the insides of those. If the skin has a blistered look to it - won't eat that either. If is normal/clean looking I will eat the skin. If my hubby cooks it, I will eat all of it.

That's ok - looks like you've got plenty of takers for your (non gayef washed) skins round here

COnsidering i dont have a proper oven to have a great baked potato
i microwave mine.

You wash it, jab it with the fork all over it and then wrap it in a paper towel, microwave it on high for 10 mins and the skin is nice and crunchy, personally i dont think they come out soggy. I love it with the potato dressing from walmart

I can deal with the skins, as long as they don't "crunch" from lefover grime......that does gross me out. Love 'em otherwise, and love the insides with just plain butter, or totally "stuffed' with smoked meat, cheese, butter, sour cream and bacon with BBQ sauce on the side......Great, now I'm hungry!

all these food threads. We haven't been able to have a baked potato or any other decent home cooked meal for 4 weeks (no kitchen)
. A lovely baked potato followed by a cinnamon roll sounds lovely just now!

Where's Stephanie? She loves baked potatoes!
I love the skin on potatoes and always eat the skin on a baked one. The skin of red potatoes is my fav I think. I leave the skin on for fries too.
