you know, I used to be a real stars wars maniac before these movies came out. I mean it was bad. I was the first person in line for the phantom menace and it sucked so bad (imo) that I didn't even go and see the next one. And I was obsessed! I heard this last one is better though... maybe i'll give it a shot..

Attack of the Clones was alot better then the 1st one. The Revenge of the Sith looks to be really good too. It's rated PG-13. Lucus said it's not for little kids and it's a bit darker then rest of the Star Wars.

It opens here on Thursday, May 19. I am taking a half-day off work JUST for ROTS. I am going to purchase the tickets online "as soon as they are on sale" for myself and my dad.

My dad took me to see the ORIGINAL Star Wars back in the 70's, so I wanna go out with a bang and have dear old dad go with me. He is the ONLY person I know of who wants to see this movie. Everyone else around me thinks I am a total and utter geek cuz I like Star Wars (and Star Trek).

Phantom Menace was okay, the acting coulda been better, and Jar Jar Binks needs to be shot. Attack of the Clones had better direction (although Natalie Portman is being way underworked... she is awesome and can do way better than what she's done in the SW movies). Revenge of the Sith is going to be great. I'm all jazzed!

I will be waiting in line with my dad May 19 to see hottie Anakin turn to the Dark Side!!!

I am an absolute fanatic. I saw Star Wars at a drive-in theater when it first came out and now I have the DVD set. I absolutely can't wait until the final installment.

My friends and I are such geeks we already have plans to go to the mid-night showing we're just waiting for tickets to go on sale. We did the same thing for the other two when they came out as well.

I'll definitely see it, because I loved Star Wars in my adolescent years...read the books and everything. BUT I won't be going on opening day, because I hate crowded theatres. I don't like sitting next to people that I don't know....
Plus, Haden Christianson....um..sucks. Plus, he's so whiney as Anakin. "I slaughtered them like animals. Not just the men, but the women and the children, too." He was practically crying!......Come ON! You're Vader! Say it with pride, don't snivle!

I heard that Attack of the Clones was one of his first jobs. He did a good job. That scene was done like that on purpose. He's pissed for lack of a better word. Yes he's whiney but I think that's to show how immature he is and to show just how easily manipulated he can be. and he is HOT!!!

I am the same way, I love the first trilogy, but that Phantom menace was AWFUL. I was practically glad when Liam Neesom was killed, it put him out of his misery.

I didn't think he did a very good job at all. And I've seen him in other projects and have NEVER been impressed. He's just.....I don't know, not my favourite. I know some people think he's hot, and that's cool with me. You can have him
.

I know the scene was done like that on purpose. It was two separate complaints. Sorry, I didn't make that very clear in my post. I don't like the Attack of the Clones version of Anakin. I think the way that they made Anakin seem in the Star Wars books and in the references to the past in the later Star Wars movies was better. I think he should have been a strong Jedi who was drawn to the power of the dark side instead of being so whiney and immature that he's manipulated into it. Turning this Anakin to the Dark Side isn't really any achievement, IMO.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone seen the Star Wars rant at the beginning of the movie Chasing Amy?

No, but now you have given me good cause to rent the movie! Jay does a little Star Wars rant in Dogma, too!

I am personally a fan of all the Star Wars movies, from beginning to end. I remember how the very first one (now Episode 4, of course) was just some unknown film. My dad came home one night and casually said that he had just seen this 'Star Wars' movie and that it was good. (We were both Sci Fi fans.) So my friends and I went the next night and were BLOWN AWAY ~ as was the rest of the audience! I remember being wide-eyed when the first Imperial Starship took up the entire screen at the beginning, and how the entire audience burst into cheers when the Millenium Falcon first went into hyperdrive to escape. It's funny how that memory is so crystal clear.

I'm hopeful that this one will redeem what they did with Episodes I and II. I was sorely disappointed with them.

And don't forget the rant about the contract workers in Return of the Jedi in Clerks.
And the whole filming of the movie in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. He even had Mark Hamill in the movie.
Think Kevin Smith is a Star Wars fan?

Yes, we're psyched to see it. All indications say that this movie should be fantastic. Earl's already seen a synopsis of the movie (leaked of course) and I think has seen a leaked script. I don't want to know the details.

Anakin is a whining puke so far, but at least we know that Luke comes by it honestly.

Actually, there's at least one Star Wars mention (usually more) in every Kevin Smith movie. The one in Chasing Amy is my personal favourite, though

I just asked my bf and he agreed with me that we'll go see it for sure
