Nsync sucked? (oh well, I STILL love Justin Timberlake).

Who is 5ive? I know it's a boy band but I'm not sure I know any of their songs off the top of my head. I know they were big in Europe, right?

Sorry Kelly, but there was NO way I could come up with five, so I've scaled it down to 10... and that was difficult.

In no particular order:

The Stone Roses
Oasis
The Velvet Underground
Led Zeppelin
The Ramones
The Rolling Stones
U2
Talking Heads
The Doors
No Doubt/Gwen Stefani

hehe Top 5.... Just had a High Fidelity moment! lol

My top 5, in no particular order:
Queens of the Stone Age
Tool
Nine Inch Nails
Marylin Manson
Pearl Jam

That's mostly a throw-together list of the day...I could switch out any number of others bands depending on what mood I'm in...Smashing Pumpkins, STP, Nirvana, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, the White Srtipes, whatever.
But NIN and the Queens have a permenant place on the list.

Rock on, TCS!! *devil horns* hehe

Linda - funny smilies!
O.K. I choose pop not rock. It's sooo hard to choose. Here's five that come to mind right now.

Beatles
Police
Pretenders
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Matchbox 20 (but Rob Thomas' new song sucks)

Chris...
on the Pretenders!

I really like the whole New York music scene, so most of favourite bands are from there... Okay, I'm breaking the rules and naming MORE!

The Velvet Underground have been one of my faves for years. I also like the New York punk and new wave scenes including the Patti Smith, the Ramones, the Talking Heads, Blondie, and the B52s. A couple of current fave bands, The Strokes and Interpol, are also from New York.

The entire New York music scene is the BEST!

It really makes me sad to see bands like nsync, korn, puddle of mudd on here. No offence to those who listen to them, but IMO they have no talent. And, even if you do listen to them, how could you possibly compare them to bands like Beatles, Led Zeppelin, etc. Without those bands.. there wouldn't be any of the "music" of today.

I really wish I was born earlier. Almost every single band I listen to has retired or split up due to a death. Grateful Dead (Jerry), Allman Brothers (Duane Allman), The Who (Keith Moon and John Entwistle), The Doors (Jim Morrison), The Beatles (John Lennon and George Harrison), Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix....

the list could go on and on....

Look at all the greats there were back then.. What true talent does my generation have to show for itself? Britney Spears? Ashley Simpson?

I weep for the future.
