The Toys in Toilet topic got me thinking about the water / bathroom obsession that I think Guinness has....

For a start, his night time litter tray is kept in the bathroom (he is allowed out during the day). Many times now when I have been having a shower and peer out of the shower curtain he gives me a scare. He will be sitting on the side of the bath just watching me! Once I have finished he will normally jump in the bath and lick the shower water off of the walls!
He "tries" to lick my legs when they are wet as well. Cat fur and wet legs just do not mix!

Also, as soon as he hears me turn the tap on to brush my teeth he jumps up onto the side of the basin and just sits and watches me... The one thing that I do find really cute, if I am sitting on the toilet, sometimes he will jump onto the cistern and poke/tap my back or try to lick my ears. He will also try to climb on top of my head.....

Can anyone else relate?

I can relate!! My Gracie does that, she'll even lay down in the wet tub and just lounge there!! It's so funny, but definitely quirky!

Milo loves the bathroom too and does pretty much the same stuff. However, he only likes it when it's dry. He'll go to drink out of the faucet when there's no water, but if I turn it on even a drop he runs, lol. Otherwise he'll follow me around in there, jump in and out of the (dry) tub, etc. But if I ever close him in there he has a fit and wants out now!!

Am I the only one who "doesn't quite close" the BR door on purpose? They always want attention, and its just easier than listening to them paw under the door trying to get in.

Mashie LOVES the bathroom. If I flush the toilet she comes racing to see, if I turn on the faucet, BOOM! Right there wanting to look at/butt her head under the stream, I take a shower, she's almost IN the tub with me, mewing. I've even caught her trying to turn the tap on before... I hope she DOESN'T learn THAT little trick.

She also sits in the sink and crouches down so you can barely see her, watching me when I'm...ahem...yeah. I came in to find that she'd discovered Toilet Paper Mice while I was at work the other night.
Guess I'll have to hide the TP.

marsh will do that

he's fascinated with me taking showers. he used to try to get in with me, but not as much lately, i think he now understands 'everything' about taking showers so he's not as impressed as he was before

Samwise is in love with the bathtub when it's dry but runs at the first sign of running water. The boy just hates being wet.

Now Gandalf on the other hand I think is a water cat.
He's intrigued by any water that he finds. He watches me in the bathtub, loves to watch running water and will peak around the shower curtain and has no problem with getting wet as long as he's not submerged in water.

After my boy, Tonka, had been with us for about 5 months, I called his breeder and asked if she was 100% absolutely certain that Tonka didn't have waterdog somewhere in his pedigree! He gets into the shower with my husband ... stands there dripping wet and meowing his pleasure. I can't even turn on the water anywhere in this house that he doesn't want to come running to play in it. *sigh* Ever tried to catch a slick, slippery, wet cat?

3CatHouse and hiwatt--me too!

This thread made me laugh so much because, to put it quite frankly, the best way for me to find Eva is to go to the bathroom. As soon as she hears me in there, she'll come running! She knows that's how she can be sure to get some one-on-one time--she'll pace back and forth in front of me while I stroke her ears to tail.

All of my cats love the bathtub. They love to hide in there and they love to go in after I shower and lick up the excess water. Chesty also loves to drink out of the faucet (the tub faucet or the sink!), but neither Eva nor Ziv seems interested in that.

Oh! And Ziv has definitely surprised me a few times while in the shower. He really doesn't like to be wet, but he does this thing where he puts his front paws and face on the side of the tub and pushes aside the curtain to look at me. I have two curtains--one nice white terry curtain on the outside, and a clear waterproof one on the inside. Sometimes while I'm showering, Ziv will walk along the side of the tub in between the curtains--he can check out what I'm doing while staying dry!

Max used to love the running water in the bathtub, but recently the hiding space between the 2 shower curtains is the main attraction - they love to play hide & seek in there

My little guy is exactly the opposite. When i flush the toilet, he jumps and runs as if something tried to take a bite out of him. When i turn on the faucet, he runs to the corner, shaking. He must have been pretty traumatized by whatever life he had before i came along...

Both of my cats absolutely POSITIVELY just have to be in the bathroom with me whenever I go there. They follow me around whereever I go anyways, but If I close the door on them, they freak out XD My cat Elliot sits on the counter and then tries to lick my legs too when I get out of the shower. My little Girl Aerowyn is fascinated with the toilet, loves to see it flushed. Cats are just odd sometimes, probably just are spoiled and like the moving water. Every time I go in the bathroom Elliot bothers me about turning on the faucet so he can ahve a drink. :K Cats are strange sometimes xD

In the morning while we're brushing our teeth, Easter will come up to us, on the counter, and stand up and put her paws on our shoulders. Its so cute. And whenever we run the water in the sink she sticks her paws in it. She'll sit on the counter pretty well all day long. And when your having a shower, she'll sit on the toilet and wait till your done, then she'll go sit in the bath. She's so wierd!

That's hilarious Gaye!
A slippery Siamese at that!

Mik likes to jump in the shower after I'm done and drink the remaining water. He also drinks out of the toilet!
And forget about closing the bathroom door... they'll scratch and meow their heads off until I let them in.

Cosmo MUST be in the bathroom with me whenever I go or when I take a shower. He curls up on my feet when I'm using the facilities
and is always startled by the toilet flush (or maybe it's amazed). When I take a shower he sits in the doorway and watches me or the water drops through the foggy glass door. Maybe he's just a little pervert!
