Most of you know I have posted twice on this forum in the past year.
Unfortunately I am posting again.
My twin sister called last night-she had just gotten home from grcoery shopping and called for Champ.
He was racing across the road and a car was coming and couldn't stop in time.
Champ died in her arms.
He was not quite 2 yrs old- a semi feral kitten she got from the local animal shelter. And a companion to her 14 yr old cat Ashley.
She blames herself for calling his name when she pulled into her driveway rather than waiting.
I told her he was crossing the road-the chances were that this was going to occur sometime.
Please welcome Champ to the rainbow bridge for me.

A true Champ to the end~

How horrible -- that it happened and that she had to see it

She and Champ are in my thoughts

What a horrific sight for your sister!! Tell her I send hugs & prayers of comfort and courage during these awful times. My daughter had the same thing happen to her puppy this last fall - her nieces-in-law called the puppy just as my daughter's husband opened the car door (they were parked on the street) and the dog jumped out & got hit. Such a tragedy & the little girls were hysterical as was my daughter. It is so hard to not say, if only I'd done things differently, but like you say, if they go into the road, it's likely to happen. But now Champ is across Rainbow Bridge as is our Scooby-Doo, Jr., and we are left here on earth to carry on. Godspeed, Champ.....
