excited volunteer

I am really excited about next week. I have been looking for a way to volunteer in my community ever since I graduated from college. When I was a student volunteering my heart and soul. I was involved in a community organization called 'Cirlce K' (part of Kiwanis if you've heard of them), and I missed it dearly after I graduated and started putting in my time working in the real world.

Its been tough finding my outlet to volunteer since graduating. But I finally have! After adopting Lilly, I decided I wanted to put my time in helping all the HART kitties find new homes. Starting next week I will be going into our local Petsmart on Thursdays and helping to play with the kitties, clean their cages, and answer questions of prosepctive adoptees.

I go for training on Monday and then Thursday is my first day alone. I can't wait to use all the knowledge I've gained from TCS to help me with this, and I can't wait to help find homes for all the awesome cats at HART.

How nice of you and I'm jealous. I've always wanted to do something like that but I'm afraid that I'm pretty weak and know that I would have t0 cats instead of 5 Keep us updated on how you like it.

i think i am happy with just my two babies. It will be hard to not want to bring them all home. But with our space, and money situation there will be no more kitties at this time. So I want to do my good deed and help find wonderful homes for lots of them!!

I found out today, I will be going to an adoption event this Sunday to help out, and get in my training. I can't wait!

But seriously Beryl, that is so awesome. Hopefully you can help others learn what the joys of being owned by kitties! AND you can tell them all about how fun TCS is, too!

Well they host HART's kittens and cats, and then HART takes in the applications and decides who gets to buy them.

Ashburn is probably right about 2 hours away from C-ville. My college roommate lives down there and I have visted UVA many times, so I know that area well too. Might be a little far to come drive up to just look at the kitties, but if your sister ever comes up to the malls in NoVA (like Tysons corner), then it would be a lot closer.

Well I am off to Petsmart in just a little bit. Today is a HART adoption day. I am so excited to help with finding these babies homes! I was in Petsmart last night buying some things for Lilly and Ebony, and about 3 new kitties had just arrived. One really caught my eye. I am now seeing how hard this is going to be to not take them all home with me. Hopefully we'll find lots of homes for these babies today.
