(Sorry... couldn't resist making the joke on the title of the thread
)
Your attention please,
Today, this evening I took, and passed the test for the learner's permit of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. I have got it in my wallet already. The truth is that our tests are infamous for one thing: The easiest ones in all the horizon. 20 question test where the average question goes as "What are you supposed to do on a red light?" and "What is this?" (showing you the image of a stop sign). The only problem is that while I was there there were two people my age who flunked it (Its a tough job to be an idiot, but someone's gotta do it!)
So, once they say I pass the test with flying colors, I sit down, they call my name, take a picture and give me the license.
Puerto Rican traffic law makes no distinction between minors and adults when it comes to drivers licenses and learners permits, which means my current restrictions are:
1. I have to wait 30 days in order to get the practical test and get a full license.
2. I can drive at any time of day or night, provided I have in the passenger seat someone with a full drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (he or she can be of any age, minor or adult, but he's gotta have the license).
3. I have what we jokingly call "the blind as a bat clause" a.k.a. "must wear corrective lenses in order to drive".
But the truth is, they don't need to say that. Without eyeglasses I am so blind, that I wouldn't find the car to hop into it!
So.... lovely, huh?
I am that I can't fit in myself today!
