My Sheva girl had her babies today
Can you believe I have seven grand kitties. I am a ninny. We found Sheva starving a couple of months ago hanging around a friends house and she was chewing through the hoses on my friends car because she was so hungry. I couldn't stand to see her like that, so I brought her home and loved her and got her healthy and she is my biggest baby. gee seven babies!!! I am so excited!! (as if you couldn't tell) Oh yeah everything went smooth and all are healthy. Thank God !!!

Congratulations Grandma! Enjoy your new family. I just took my pregnant stray back to the vet today and they said she is due any day. She looks so funny waddeling around.

Awwww, seven little baby balls of pure love - how lucky you are! And what a big litter too!

A couple of words of advice if you aren't already doing this --

Your Momma is going to be expending a LOT of her resources to provide 100% of the nutrition for these 7 quickly growing wee bubbies ... and it is going to take A LOT out of her. If you haven't already, start Momma on a good, high-quality kitten formula food, both canned and dry and give her as much as she wants. Don't worry about the seemingly HUGE amount of food she is eating, she needs each and every morsel. You can also supplement her with Nutracal as a treat several times a day too, it can't hurt her and it will help her hang on to her much-needed resources.

In such a large litter, you will need to watch carefully for babies who might have to compete for a nursing position ... if you see a little belly get flat and wrinkly-looking, immediately begin supplementing that one (or those if multiples) on a bottle with KMR. All baby belly's should be fat and round.

And as always, don't forget to post pictures as soon as you can! *grin*

Best of luck,

Gaye

Gaye, excellent advice that you have given
I don't know anything about breeding cats/kittens etc (and won't either as I have a boy cat), but all the same it is interesting to read the advice etc as one day it could come in handy

Back to the litter of 7
Well done to momma cat, and yes pictures would be great to see of those little bundles!
