I had to give de-worming meds to my kittys last night. Dick helps by holding the paws but there was nothing to protect me from the teeth. Missy chomped down on my finger so hard that I have one tear, two punctures and major swelling. Thank dog I have a drs appointment this morning. I can't even hold a pen, but at least I can type.

I think I've figured out why were the kitties like that.... you worship dogs! (Read the last two sentences)

Ouchie Leah!
Bad Missy!!! She'll appreciate all you did for her, though, when she's worm-free!!!

ouch, sorry! you have to be careful, even the most gentle cats can inflict a lot of damage (we've seen a ton of these posts lately). For the future, see if you can use a blanket to restrict your kitty

I just got back from the doctor and of course it's infected already. Antibiotic time.

Thanks all. Unfortuately that was only cat 2 of 4 to be medicated and I wasn't successful with Missy. Any Ideas on how to do her, Buzz and Ashly. My pill pushing finger is disabled and my husband wont do it.

At the kitty's beck and call
I believe you can get some implements that deliver the pill to the back of the cat's tongue without your fingers getting in the way. I'll have a look to see if I can find a link to what I mean.

This is an indication of the kind of thing http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.a...=54&pf_id=3684 I don't know how well they work - perhaps one of the mods has more of an idea of the effectiveness of these things. A vet had suggested to us before that we get the pill on the end of a dropper and place it on the back of tongue - although not using water as the one in the link did.

I always worry as to whether the poor kitty would choke though.

Cat bites can be very nasty. I'd try a pill gun. I have one that squirts a bit of water to make swallowing easier.
