Is Glop used to wean kittens off of mom? And if so when is the best time to start feeding this to them. And how much do they get?

I don't know about Glop, but, when I wean my kitties off their mom, I give them canned cat food, the mushy kind, and mush it up even more, and feed that to them. You can also add a little warm water to it so it's easier to eat. It takes time. A lot of times I put some on my finger, and put it to their nose, and if they don't eat, don't force them. They'll eat when they're ready. I usually start introducing them to it at 3 1/2 weeks, but they normally don't start eating it until 4 - 4 1/2 weeks, in my expiriences.

Glop is usually used in place of formula, or it can be made, refrigerated, so it gels, and then warmed up to room temp and given to the kittens. Sometimes, they take to it quicker than canned food.

You should be weaning kittens off mom with soft food, but don't rush the process. The kittens will take to the food when they are ready, and mom will be ready at 12 weeks to tell these young ones goodbye and stop trying to get my milk! I use canned kitten food from Iams with the kittens here, or kitten glop if the kittens are a bit sickly or just don't seem strong enough.

You can try and see if they will take it ... mine usually want canned right at about 3 to 3 and a half weeks ... if you do start them on it and they take to it, also remember to provide a litter box because once they begin eating on their own, Mom stops doing hiney washing. *grin*
