So we're obviously all cat people....

But are you only a cat person? A cat AND dog person? A cat and another type of animal person? Not an animal person, but merely someone who tolerates cats?
I'm curious!
I'm a cat person 200%. I wouldn't say I'm also a dog person, but I do like them for short periods of time I consider myself just an animal person in general (with a special emphasis on felines), because, given the chance, I'd own a farm full of critters

I'm definitely a cat person, first and formost I'm also a fish person

After than, i think I can definitely say i'm NOT a dog person, NOT a kid person, NOT a bird person, NOT a monkey person, NOT an elephant person the list goes on and on

Cat person first and foremost in terms of animals I would want to share my home with.

I love animals generally though and would hate to see one hurt, mistreated or even just sad. We have chickens too and I love to watch them poddling around the garden, but I don't feel close to them in the same way that I feel close to the kitties.

Cats are number one, but also love dogs (had a few as pets and just met niece's new acquisition, a 4month old brindled great dane), and have owned one guinea pig (Gertrude).

I doubt I will ever have a reptile or amphibian as a pet. Birds - maybe, but I prefer to watch the native songbirds (less care involved! ). Have had fish, but not a favorite.

Basically all animals, though cats are way ahead of their nearest contender, dogs.

I grew up with dogs, was a devoted dog person, would have had one when I got my first pet "on my own", but I couldn't give it an appropriate lifestyle. So I sought an animal who would not be disadvantaged by my lifestyle, who would nonetheless care whether I was home or not, and with whom I could have a real relationship. Enter Shasta [RB], who taught me about cats, and I have never looked back. I don't ever want to be without at least one cat in my life.

One day, when/if I have an appropriate lifestyle, I'd love to have a dog, too, but till then I'm happy enjoying other people's dogs.

Definitely a cat person. I love dogs too, and am hoping to convince the landlord to let us get one. And I love ferrets, fish, anything furry.

OHHH! And hippos!! There was a special on the discovery channel last night about Hippos and I wanted to just go up to them and hug them all!

Exactly. I am most certainly going to say cats are my favorite animals, and they are the BEST! They are what I mostly want to have in my home. But I love all animals. I enjoy small animals like rats, and mice, and I like some special dogs out there.

I'm pretty much a cat and dog person. Even though cats are so much easier to take care of with a busy life, I went without dogs for about a year and had to adopt them again. So I give up going out after work to go home and walk the dogs, but what the heck! I love the way they express their unconditional love (more obvious than cats) and they are easier to read. If I was forced to chose between the 2, I would pick a cat over a dog but it would be a close call.

I put cat and other, though I love all animals, I am a huge cat lover, and the others I love, but not as much as cats. Cats are my favorite, but I love all the other animals, too.

I grew up with all sorts of pets, and I enjoyed it! I do have a slight preference for cats, but I do love dogs too, and I could see myself having one. However, Scott is strictly a cat person (he likes their independence). He DID say we could/ should get one or two more kitties in the future when we have a bigger place, graduate, and get real jobs. We also currently have a 30 gallon fish tank with various types of goldfish (which should be fun to move).

I'd have to say ALL animals person - I currently have three kats, one guinea pig, a 5-gal aquarium and a 4.5ft ball python living under my roof. I've never been a big dog-lover but my mom's pup is such a sweetie, and the more time I spend with friends' dogs and learn to understand them, the more I grow to love them

I've had hamsters and gerbils before, too (and a bat, but he was an unwelcome guest! )

I am without a doubt an animal person. I can only have cats right now, but when the time presents itself (when I buy a home...) I will rescue several dogs immediately. I love dogs and cats equally, and would share my home with them in an instant. I would also love to own a farm (with someone else doing all the work) so I can spend my time playing with the animals.
