Since I am a hairdresser reading this males me lol! This is the kind of stuff I hear from my clients everyday.Always ask you hairdresser for tips to doing your hair, most will be happy to tell you and I'm not BSing when I say that professional products are much better.Trust me I had to go to cosmetology school to learn how to do my own hair.

I like my hair. It's thick. It grows fast, like a weed. And, it's naturally curly. I love the color, light brown, with a touch or two or blonde, a little medium brown, and now and then, it almost looks like there's a trace of a reddish color. However, my hair, being thick AND naturally curly, is a HANDFUL to manage! I hate the management! I can brush my hair, and a minute later (no exageration) it would be all knotty again! Also, unless I brush my hair after I get out of the shower it FRIZZZZZES! MAJORLY! It frizzes horribly!!!

But, when I manage it right, I love my hair!

I like that my hair is naturally blonde and naturally fine and straight, but I have a lot of it, so it tends to weigh down easily from products or extra conditioner, so I use both sparingly. It's always shiny and easy to maintain, so I'm happy with it.

I COMPLETELY agree.
I've been using Aveda products for years, which is the reason I think my hair looks as good as it does. If I used Pantene or something like that, my hair would probably just hang there, feel oily and appear limp.

I love my hair
!

It is very fine, of medium thickness (quantity-wise) and I've finally got it to mid-back length !

I'm going to continue to grow it down to my tailbone.

My only problem is getting it trimmed
. I actually have to bring a tape measure with me and show the hairstylist EXACTLY how much I want taken off - otherwise "just an inch" somehow turns into 4-6"

They seem determined to try to talk me into cutting, dying and frying my hair - no ! I like my hair at it's length. Why are you trying to turn me into everybody else ? I don't care that I'm "almost 40" - why should I cut my hair off because of some arbitrary number ?

Does anyone want my thick hair??
I would LOVE to have nice fine/thin and silky hair. I'm always trying to smooth mine out.

I guess I like my hair... when I can get it to do what I want it to! It's naturally curly, and I wear it that way sometimes. I like to blow dry it straight, but if I don't use TONS of styling products it just goes poofy. It's scary!
I love it and I hate it all at the same time!

I too live in a straight and thin hair hell

My hair is thin, straight (no curls whatsoever) and blonde. I have a shoulder length haircut, where i just wash my hair once every two days and let it hang down or up in a hair clip - it's OK, but i wish all the time i had curly hair. I do use rollers after i wash my hair (sometimes), but it never comes out right.

On top of all of this (as if it's not enough), i have sensitive scalp and can only use dandruff shampoos, other shampoos, no matter how expensive and 'natural', leave bloody scabs on my scalp

*raises hand to be included in the 'hair hell'" group. Mine is baby fine and soft, still that soft just days after getting a fresh perm! It has also gotten thinner with time, so I usually wind up getting a perm about every four months. I have a great lady who does mine, and she does a good enough job that she had the hairdresser who works beside her fooled into thinking I had a nice thick headfull of hair, until she had to cut it for me once!

I guess I should like mine because it's very forgiving. I can hot curl, flat iron, blow out, braid, tease, and do just about anything to it and it generally behaves. I have long hair with a bi-level cut, just bangs and support pieces up top for volume. I wash it at night and let it air dry. I tie it in a top knot with a scrunchie thing and then in the moring it falls down with body. I spray root lifter at the scalp and then I'm good to go.
It's probably the only thing about me that ever behaves!

i like my hair but i keep doing things to it. when i was seventeen i dyed it a deep red/brown. then i cut it off. then i had it changed to my natural color. then i grew it out. right before i turned twenty, i dyed it blue. then cut it off. then dyed it back....

and it's still quite nice. growing it out again,b ut not dying it again. hehe. i DO like it. i just have impulse issues...

it takes a lot of abuse and still makes my mom jealous

hehe. yeah. it's silly to improve on something you already like and expect it to be better... especially when the roots come in

Cut it when you are ready for it to be something different, and not before. "Almost 40"? I keep threatening to cut mine off, but at the rate I'm going I may make 60 -- then again I may not, but you know what I mean

Loving my beautiful baby girl
I have long, natural blond, somewhat curly hair. I spent years trying to get it to be nice and smooth and straight, but have now come to accept and appreciate it. All I do is wash it and let it dry naturally. Then, I pull the sides back or put it all back in a clip. If I'm going out and want it to look nice, I curl it with Caruso curlers so it's smooth.

I do now! I work with a bunch of stylists that will do my hair every day if it needs it. Up until I started working there, my hair was a big, fat pain in the butt. It was long, partly curly, and partly straight, and fried from coloring it. Then I decided to let it go gray. My stylist at the time decided I needed something that looked almost like a mullet. It was a total mess. Now it is collar length, colored and streaked, and I just have to use a curling iron for a few minutes in the morning.
