My mom started having contractions and Dad got her to the hospital in good time. (At that time the closest hospital was a twenty mile drive. Fewer stop lights than now, but still a good distance.) Contractions were at 5 minutes and Mom had just taken a bite of gelatin the nurse had brought when she realized the contractions had stopped.
A couple of hours later they let Mom got home. But a little red-haired nurse stopped her and asked her a question. Did they tell Mom that the contractions would start where they left off? No.
Four days later -around midnight - Mom woke up to go to the bathroom and her water broke. Mom swears she had never seen Dad get dressed so fast.
Anyway, here I am and I have yet to accomplish a better April Fools.
