Any babies yet?

Nope... still no kittens. My mom thinks that I just WANT her to be in labor, so I'm convincing myself she is. Well, it's true, I WANT her to be in labor, but, that doesn't explain the discharge and the nesting.

I don't understand.... is the discharge, nesting, and obvious discomfort not sure signs that she was in labor? There are still no kittens. I can see them move all the time, but, why hasn't she had them? She's acting normal, now. Eating, drinking, playing a little, and non-active playing it is, and mainly SLEEPING! I don't understand. I thought for sure she was in labor... was I wrong?

Tomorrow is April Fools. Maybe she got her dates mixed up.
Sounds like she's playing with your emotions, dear! In all seriousness, do me a big favor, ok? I'm not too worried as long as she's still eating, drinking and otherwise acting normal for a pregnant kitty, but honestly, if she were mine, come tomorrow morning if there still aren't any babies, I'd take her to the vet, even if it does stress her. If she actually is in labor and there aren't any kits by now, she may need assistance that only your vet can give. Trust me on that, 'cause I've had more than one c-section done on my breeders before I retired them. Keep up updated, and try not to worry too much, ok? {{{hugs}}}

Cindy is right, Cassie ... if she passed the mucous plug last night, then there should be kittens not terribly long afterwards. At the very least, call the vet and ask to speak to THE VET - not a tech, not the girl at the front desk - and let him know what's been happening with CJ.

I'll do that tomorrow if there are still no kitties.

Please continue to pray for CJ to have these kitties. Tonight preferably. Thanks!

Wow, this is an exciting thread. Good luck to CJ, the soon-to-be mom!

CJ looks a lot like the kitten buddy that Mooie brought back with him after being missing for five weeks. Just picture CJ with a greyish cap on her head and large, soft grey/brown patches on each side of her body, and that's our new cat/kitten visitor.

Maybe tonight will be the night? Or tomorrow?!

First, I am experienced with other animals but not a cat expert.

But if the descriptions and timelines presented in this thread are accurate, then I'd wake up early for one of the walk-in slots at the vet. If some of the details are getting mixed up in the excitement, that's okay but if the description is literal and accurate then the delay is some cause for concern. Contractions have been happening for over 30 hours! Not a time to panic but this merits a vet consultation just to be safe.

Good luck to CJ!

She had contractions apparantly the first night. From then on, she's had just lots of movement. I'm not sure. I'm not sure if I'm just over reacting, or if it is something of concern. I will try to get a hold of a vet today. Thanks!
the thing is Cassie, if she's not had them by now, some of them may be dead inside her- the umbilical cord starts disintigrating if I remember correctly, and after a time they'll not be getting food or oxygen. I hope you can have her to the vet today.. it is concerning as this seems to be about 36 hours or more.
So how is she doing today?
I'm hoping to hear good news, that she's finally having them!
I would assume, since false labour is possible in humans, it could be in animals?
Let us know how she is please!!!!

No kitties yet. She's acting normal... completely normal. I still see movement, and she dug around in her box last night, but, still no kitties. Cats can have false labor, but, would that include the discharge? That's what's worrying me, is the discharge. I'm going to give her a little while, then call a vet if nothing happens.

Hmmm....well, I would call the vet, just to reassure you, if anything. Depending on where you are to, maybe the vet would be willing to come to your house to check her out?
If not, I guess it might be a good idea to take her to the vet. You saw the mucous two days ago, right? That's quite a long time....
But, if she seems all right in all other aspects...
Hmmm, difficult situation.
I would call your vet, I'm sure that they will be able to give you a good idea of what is going on.
I would definately call the vet asap, you don't want to take a chance at losing those little babies or even CJ! I hope everything is okay, my girls and I are thinking of ya and keeping our paws crossed for some good news...soon.

I didn't think it mattered before, but, after reading other posts, and reading online, I think I might need to mention it.

CJ's discharge was not clear, pink, nor reddish... it was a milky yellow-ish color. Is this bad? Or is it normal?
mavericks was a little milky but if its yellowish i would call the vet Cassie.

rather be safe than sorry
Cassie call the vet. Don't mess around with this. What you are describing points to a troublesome delivery. Please call the vet now and take CJ in to be seen quickly!

I called the vet, and they said that it could be normal. They suggested I bring her in for an exam to make sure all is going well. I will have to talk to my mother about it, and I'll let you all know what happens!

Thank-you so very much for your advice and support!

Cassie

Still no kitties yet. I am praying and hoping she has them tonight. I put her nesting box in an area she agrees with more, and I think she's happier with that. She is still digging in her nesting box sometimes, and she is still taking it easy. I'm going to keep an eye on her, non-stop, and if there are still no kitties tomorrow, I will go to the vet.

Thanks again for all your support, advice, and encouragement! And thanks for not blasting me with how I should have gotten her spayed! I would appreciate all prayers for a safe delivery! And for me to get some sleep after
all this is over! Thank-you!

Cassie and CJ and the soon-to-be daddy, Billy!
