For some reason, this song has been on high rotation in my brain ALL day, which possessed me to start this thread.

I know cat songs are hard to come by, but let's wrack our brains and see how many we can come up with!

The Love Cats is my favourite song by The Cure... paws down.

***********

Ah
We move like cagey tigers
We couldn't get closer than this
The way we walk
The way we talk
The way we stalk
The way we kiss
We slip through the streets
While everyone sleeps
Getting bigger and sleeker
And wider and brighter
We bite and scratch and scream all night
Let's go and throw
All the songs we know...

Into the sea
You and me
All these years and no one heard
I'll show you in spring
It's a treacherous thing
We missed you hissed the lovecats

We're so wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
Wonderfully pretty!
Oh you know that I'd do anything for you...
We should have each other to tea huh?
We should have each other with cream
Then curl up by the fire
And sleep for awhile
It's the grooviest thing
It's the perfect dream

Into the sea
You and me
All these years and no one heard
I'll show you in spring
It's a treacherous thing
We missed you hissed the lovecats

We're so wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
Wonderfully pretty!
Oh you know that I'd do anything for you...
We should have each other to dinner huh?
We should have each other with cream
Then curl up in the fire
Get up for awhile
It's the grooviest thing
It's the perfect dream

Hand in hand
Is the only way to land
And always the right way round
Not broken in pieces
Like hated little meeces...
How could we miss
Someone as dumb as this?

I love you... let's go...
Oh... solid gone...
How could we miss
Someone as dumb as this?

This is a really small, random refernce to cats, but since it comes from Les Miserables, I love it (naturally). In one of the songs, Eponine and her father are referred to as "a cat and its father". Like I said, really small and random cat song reference

I love in the video when Robert has the little ginger tabby kitten playing in his lap! So adorable.

Garrison Keillor has a whole CD called "Songs of the Cat" -- they are wonderful, and my absolute fave is "The In and Out Song". Don't have all the lyrics in my head, but for anyone unfamiliar, this will give a bit of an idea...

Well..I wanna go out!
Open that door if ya love me
I wanna go out!
Gotta breathe the air...
I gotta get loose,
With that blue sky above me
I been here a long, long time
I gotta be there.

Well, I wanna come in!...
etc... for several verses alternating direction

Anyone who has ever lived with an "in an out" cat (we certainly have -- hey, Gryph, miss ya fella! [RB]) will identify instantly.
