I was wondering if perhaps some of you have thought the same thing-

Sense we work hard to learn our cats feeling through body lauguage, and because our cats are so intelligent, do you think maybe they learn our body lauguage too?

Oh yes - I think my kitties have me figured out better than I've managed with them. well, that's the only explanation I can think of for the fact they have me running around after them all day

Cats definitely strive to learn about us. How else would they know exactly when feeding time is?!?!!?

Awwww..

My cats just stay in the same room as me, waiting for me to feel better.

My cats can definately tell what kind of mood I'm in all the time. Patsy is the most "motherly". If I'm upset she will try everything she can think of to cheer me up. She also has to "mother" Princess. Just the other day Princess was coughing and Patsy went of to make sure she was OK. Then came to get me to tell me something is wrong with Princess. I was watching the whole time but I couldn't let Princess know I seen her because, being the drama queen she is, she will put on an act and make it look worse than it really is.

My family says they can tell what kind of a mood I'm in by watching the cats.

Yes, I do believe cats understand us (paying attention to us is another question). My cat Milo knows he's not supposed to eat his brother's food and always backs away, sits down and stares in the opposite direction when he sees me coming to move him away from the food. It's sooo cute!!

Also, when I pat on my leg Milo will come and sit on my lap. My other kitty Koa is much more independant and not much of a cuddler, but he definitely knows when he's about to get fed or get a treat!

Most definitely. I wish I had their talent! They definitely know when I'm in a hurry, they will stay out of my way (except for Joker Skinny, who's liable to want to trip me), and when I am sad, they will either cuddle or make me laugh with their silly antics.
