I have 2 cats, sisters, about 1 1/2 years old. They are both very affectionate and loving to me and are great companions. However, Nell has recently developed a new habit. Each night she curls up in my lap while I watch Tv in bed. When I turn it off and get settled under the blankets, she comes up beside me and starts kneading the blanket. She really gets quite involved, rocking back and forth and purring quite loudly. She started this a few weeks ago and would only do it for a couple of minutes, then she would snuggle into my neck and go to sleep. It now last for 5-7 minutes and when she snuggles with me she continues to knead wherever her paws are laying, usually my neck, cheek, ear, etc.
Does anyone know why she might be doing this and how do I stop her? She was not taken away from her mother too young, besides she has been here with me since Oct. 2003 and has just started. I really don't want to close her and her sister out of the bedroom.
Help!
