I recently had a leaky faucet problem and note my cat drinks out of it and not his bowl anymore. Is this common? When i fix the faucet will he go back to his normal routine?

It's quite cute, I can always tell when he's been at it cause his little nose has a drop on it!

it's common, though my cat marsh doesn't do it. As crazykitten suggested, you should get your cat a pet fountain

Dushka does it all the time. Persil is now learning by watching her, though Ellie has never been interested. I can't buy cat fountains here, sadly.

I guess it depends on the cat... my two have never cared for it. Well Baylee will let me turn on the faucet til a bit of water pools in the sink and then drink from that... but that's about it.

You'll want to keep an eye on him to be sure that he is drinking out of his bowl once the faucet is fixed to be sure he doesn't get dehydrated. Some cats get very spoiled and insist on only drinking out of the faucet if you let them.

Oh yeah. I'm not allowed to put on my make up in the morning or brush my teeth or any of all that until I turn the faucet on for Hammie. IF I don't, he puts his butt in my face & gives me that desperate look.

Cable likes to play with the dripping faucet, & sometimes tries to catch the drops in her mouth or with her paws. i keep the bathroom door closed if i'm not in there - i'll let the faucet drip while i'm brushing my teeth or putting in my lenses, because it keeps her busy!
