Good news! I'm mildy allergic and have a few friends and relatives who are VERY allergic.

But did anyone else find it humorous, even ironic, they tested it on mice???

That's great. I am allergic to some cats, but not all interestingly. I hear it's the kind of dander they let off.
I house sat at a house and their cat made me really ill.

That's how I am - no trouble with Siamese, or one or two domestic shorthairs, as long as the place is vacuumed every day, but don't let me near Persians, Angoras, etc.! The weird thing is that a friend got a Sphynx because of her cat allergy, and I can't spend any time with her cat or in her house - I have an asthma attack after about 10 minutes, and she's a real "clean freak", with little in the way of home textiles.

That is great news. I have asthma and allergies to cats as well as two beautiful kitties which I would not give up for anything. Alavert helps certainly, but I would love a new medication that would work better.
