I'd better check and see if anything good is on TV tomorrow evening, or find a book I absolutely must reread. Thanks for the warning!

This is a vBulletin (the forum) script update. It is like upgrading Microsoft Word but all your old documents still work
.

Is it finished?

Just to let you know, my connection to TCS is slower than other links. Is the upgrading affecting it?

Thank you for your patience everyone!
That would be me - and I will be starting in the next hour or two - the site will be unavailable for between 30 minutes and an Hour.

Hi Paul,

We are looking forward to the upgrade and I hope it goes well.

-Thomas (aka tikitak)

P.S. - I like the title "Forum Upgrader"
.

There was an issue at the datacenter where the TCS server is, that may or may not have been related. I will look into it.

The upgrade is complete - I shall be around for a day or two just to be sure everything worked ok.

I have turned on the CSS caching feature which means that your browser should download a stylesheet datafile for whatever style you have chosen and then cache it locally - this should make each forum page load slightly quicker as it doesn't need to keep reloading all the style data.

Wow! That couldn't have been timed better! I've been on a lot more than usual today, and it just slid in between sessions. Lovely.

Coolness! Now I'm anxious to go home and check it out on my dial-up connection, that's where I'll notice it more than anywhere (DSL here, home is a 24K connection, max!)
