You all made my week so very happy!
I am pleased to pass the honor on to KATIE and her darlings!
Graycie and GoGo

and to all of her foster kitties!

Here are my first set of questions.

1. When did you get your sweetheart girls?

2. How many foster kitties have you had?

3. Where do you get them from?
4. Is it hard to let them go when you find a home for them?
5. Do YOU find the home, or does someone else?
6. How does all this work?
7. How old are your kitties?
8. When did you join thecatsite and how did you find it?

More later!

Hugs to you! There are so many of you that I wanted to choose!
This was tough.

Here are my first set of questions.

1. When did you get your sweetheart girls? Graycie April 2001 Go Go May 2002

2. How many foster kitties have you had? only 7

3. Where do you get them from? I found all of them in the garden of my apartment building. The first four were 2-wk old kittens whose mother abandoned them. I lost one, but saved three.

4. Is it hard to let them go when you find a home for them? No, it's not for me. I feel they deserve a home of their own and that other people need to have cats, too.

5. Do YOU find the home, or does someone else? I've been a foster mother for Adopt-A-Pet Matchmaker and the cats have been posted in Petfinder.com

6. How does all this work? I found Adopt-A-Pet by accident when I needed help for a kitten with a broken leg -- I just started emailing every rescue organization I could find and Adopt-A-Pet was at the top of the list -- The woman that runs the place answered in five minutes and we became rescue and cyber friends. Oh, and the kitten got his leg fixed and a good home.

7. How old are your kitties? My Gracie is 4 and Go Go is 3. I'm not taking any more foster cats for the time being. My cats were getting very annoyed with me.

8. When did you join thecatsite and how did you find it? I found the cat site while looking for information on taking care of the tiny kittens I had at first and joined right away. That was spring 2004, but I was wiped out in the December crash and started over.

More later!

Hugs to you! There are so many of you that I wanted to choose!
This was tough.
Thank you for choosing me. I really haven't paid any attention to this thread, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit. I feel very honored to be singled out like this.

My favorite thing about Easter is all the beautiful spring colors. It was my favorite holiday when I was a child.

Not any more.

It varies from time to time but usually red.

2. What is GoGo's temperament?

3. What is Graycie's temperament?

4. Do you worry/think about what happens to your kitties when one has to go to The Rianbow Bridge, and how the other one will be affected?

Yes, but I can't find a treat that they both like.

2. What is GoGo's temperament?

Go Go is high-strung and very shy. She's a sweetie to me when we're alone.

3. What is Graycie's temperament?

Gracie is restrained and moderate except for her desire to go outside.

4. Do you worry/think about what happens to your kitties when one has to go to The Rianbow Bridge, and how the other one will be affected?
I worry more about what will happen to them when I have to go to the Rainbow Bridge! They are young cats and I'm an old cat lady.

I think the instinct of the many cat site members who get kittens when their cats get older is very sound.

How long each day are your cats alone?

What is your favorite kind of meat? (if you eat meat)?

Do you exercise daily?

Are you doing anything special for Easter?

Dear Katie, congrats on being chosen. Here a couple of questions from me.

Have you had cats from childhood on, or did you become a cat lover as an adult?

What is your favorite breed of cat, if you have a favorite?

How do you like living in LA? If you could chose to move anywhere else, would you, and where would you move?

My cats don't allow me to go out much. They do let me run errands, if I promise to bring them back something.

Chicken is my favorite, especially "friend chicken." I'm from Miami is that being "from the south"? I've never been sure, but I love fried chicken.

Do you exercise daily?

Not unless you count getting out of bed as exercise. I do have an old folks exercise class twice a week.

Are you doing anything special for Easter?
No.

Before I answer you, I have to admit that direct questions usually make my mind go blank and I get very solemn and try to answer very very straight.
I hope I can overcome that......

My mother always had cats, but I preferred dogs.

In my signature I put "All cats are magnificent" however, I admit to being somewhat intimidated by purebreeds.

I love L.A. for the weather. It has to be the best weather in the world. The lack of good public transportation is a problem though. Of course, the main thing keeping me in L.A. is my daughter and her family and she'll never leave. I think if I really had my druthers, I'd just like to travel a lot more.

Hi Katie and welcome to the Spotlight!
Hmmm... lots of good cat questions have been asked so far. I'll try to start with some easy questions.

1. Have you ever had breakfast in bed?

2. What's your favorite way to be woken up by your kitties? Is it always the same?

3. Which one of your kitties is the friendliest to new acquaintences?

4. When was the last time you were angry with someone and why?

I'll do my best with my uncooperative mind --

Have I ever had breakfast in bed? You mean prepared by someone else? I'm sure I've had more than one but I can only remember my ex and my daugher -- for mother's day.

My Graycie likes to put her front paws on the edge of the bed and meow -- only that perfectly adorable cat has a meow like a goat's bleat -- very unpleasant. Now Go Go is sugar and spice. She lays down next to me puts her long-furred paws on my arm or cheek, purrs and licks my nose or washes my face. Definitely my preference.

No problem with who is friendliest since Go Go is an under-the-couch-potato as soon as she hears the door open. Graycie wins just by not hiding. Actually Graycie is a very good hostess.

I used to have an awful temper, but age and meditation have mellowed me. The last time I got angry was when someone took four newborn kittens from their feral mother, put them in a box, and tossed it to the bottom of the stairs to this building.

I've got to say this attention really is flattering. It's not often that anyone shows much interest in what I have to say. I love it!

I've got two favorite books, too: Comfort Woman by Nora Okja Keller and Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned by Walter Mosley.

I was raised in Miami and the beach was very important to me growing up. The park I loved has been closed now and everyone goes to South Beach instead. Even when I lived in New York City, I'd take the train to Coney Island or Far Rockaway to be near the ocean. Even in the middle of winter. Once I moved to the Pacific Coast though, it's never had the same effect on me. When I went back to Miami in 1999, I again loved the beach. Go figure.

My favorite ice cream
I wobble on this, but mostly Butter Pecan.

I've been to Disneyland a couple of times.

Never alone, but even with other adults I love them.

Graycie is 4 and Go Go is 3.

I guess I answered whether I've ever been to Florida!

Thank you for the congrats! It's wonderful to be in the spotlight in this way!
I wish I was funnier and could make it more interesting so I'd get lots of questions and bask more!

W/ the best cats
Katie, congratulations!

Just one question:
If you are/were a grandparent, how many grandchildren would you like to have?
