Well, the weekend is almost over and Willow is still hanging in there. I was hoping she would have them while I was home, but no luck. Hubby is here during the days, but you know, just not the same... Although, I know in all likelihood she just may well have them in the dead of night.
Anyway, I managed to take a good shot of her preggo-belly. When I earn "rights" I will be sure to post her glowiong pic ;-)

I forgot to add, she has been exceptionally lovey tonight and has stopped eating dry food, although she is downing a thing of canned food at my feet as I type! So who knows, she may just well be getting her fill and holding out for the good stuff ;-)

Also we switched her dry to kitten food, but still offer the old stuff just in case this is the reason she stopped too.

A funny side. She can no longer fit through the 'kitty door' to my daughter's room and seems to hesitate before jumping over the gate to get upstairs....

I know I'm getting anxious, I feel like I'm wating for my own littler ;-)

We've been feeling the kits move since Easter (we didnt actually check before this) so I'm thinking any day now huh? Oh well... as I [also] watch the CJ and Billy thread, I know only time will tell!

Sounds close to time for kittens. Samona could not even jump on a chair her last day to eat her food let alone a gate. I tried to put her on the other side of a gate and she CLIMBED the gate and came back to my feet. My advice is not to let her jump much or climb she is in enough torture with kids in her tummy lol. Lets hope to see some kitties soon maybe by this weekend.

Hey everyone -- just a quick update. Still no babies but enjoying all the movement in her tummy while she lets me hold her!

I still havent figured out how to post pics, so I've uploaded a preggo-pic of Willow on Kodak's Picture Share Site

http://www.kodakgallery.com/BrowsePh...40_66120093906

When the boys are sleeping, we take the gate to the upstairs down so Willow doesnt have to scale any walls. She has taken to laying in our breakfast nook a lot where it is cooler for her. HOWEVER, she has also been jumping on my counter, to the the top of the fridge, to the top of the wall cabinets and taken to lying up there! I dont know how we're going to keep her out of the kitchen aside from locking her in my room! Hmmmm... maybe I'll try putting the baby gate up at the kitchen and see if it will deter her....

Hopefully not much longer. The babes were real active tonight! I can tell the movements have become much_more pronounced!

Getting tired of reading about Willow yet?

Just another quick update. Last night was one of the LONGEST nights ever. I slept like poo kaka!

In an attempt to stop Willow from having her kittens on the top of the kitchen cupboards, we locked her in the room with us last night.

Just getting ready for bed was a chore in itself. We moved her litter in our room, just in case. We brought in a water dish. We brought in her nesting box... Willow did_not want to be locked in our room. She kept going to the door and banging on it all-night. Finally I put something between the door and the jam to alleviate the little bit of play in it. She was up many times and in and out of the litter box all night. I got up once (without turning on the light) as she had been scratching in the box so long I wondered what the heck was going on. Now if the humane society was right, this ist her first litter, so I'm hoping she wont lose a kitten in the box, but anyway - No kittens yet.

I didnt mention this yesterday, but in all our cuddle time yesterday, I did notice a BIG change in the size of her 'utters' (?) yesterday. I mean a definite change. They are much fuller now. I noticed they were filling slightly before, but last night they were WAY full.

Ha! and when she sat for me to pet her, it's so cute as her belly hits the floor

SO wondering what I'm gonna do with her tonight. Maybe I can kitten-proof my son's room (which he doesnt sleep in anyway) and put her in there tonight. I really dont mind keeping her with us again, but if she isnt comfortable in being locked in with us, will she post-pone labor?

<sigh> Oh well... still counting down the days, and as usual welcome any suggestions you all might have!

Came home from work -- no kitties, came home from Sign Language Class -- no kitties

It's getting close, I just know it!

Took another pic... have a side-by-side, but dont think I notice a big difference in size
Although, it does look like the hair around her nipples is receding some.

..........................Sunday................................................ Today............................

What do ya think?

update # 974

No kittens yet.

Although we did have a much better night last night. Spring just may well be here after all. Funny to walk outside in 70 degree weather and look to the piles of snow laying on the ground fro days past.

At any rate, last night was warm enough that we slept with the window open and Willow just loved it! She only woke me once, but it t'werent because of kitties....

That's okay though, I know she's just holding out so I can be home with her during the day

I am loving her increased affection! She's actually coming to be to be held and petted now, with her tiny little "mews" Hoping it's her general personality after these babes are born too!

Oh well -- thanks for reading if you're still hanging in there too!

Sorry I did not read back through ALL the past threads and if I read it already I don't remember; Did you ever take her to the vet to confirm she is definately pregnant? Just curious...

Yes, and it was money well spent for peace of mind alone, she went last Thursday (the day before our initial spay date). The vet confirmed her pregnancy, but opted not to have her radiographed, due to her size she would have had to have two done and she hardly even remained still enough for the vet to do his exam! He estimated that the kittens would be due end of this week, but really, from what I read in another post somewhere, the cat had the x-ray and the vet was still over a week off.

As it goes with us humans too... Oh well. My guess is this weekend. I first felt the babies move on Easter night, though I never checked before this date, and the movements have only been getting stronger and more prominant. However; I have yet to *see* them move, and I think this is partly because she is a long-haired cat and also that she is always purring when near me, so it is so hard to see.

Last night they werent as active as they have been, either they were very tired
or their hunkerin' down for the long journey!

Also her teats really are filling out.

Counting the days...

Oh Pat! thank you so very much, I fell in love with her the minute I seen her. I had to fight with my daughters to persuade them my way. They had their eyes on the younger cats there. I love all cats, but I have to admit, there is a soft spot in my heart for the longer-haired breeds -- even mutts

I had to take a look at your web-site. Nice job and gorgeous cats you have yourself! April 22nd will be here before you know it! Hopefully Willow will have had her own litter before then

Yesterday was a big day, but still -- no kitties

My oldest daughter and I were upstairs last night cleanig the bathroom when Willow came in meowing for affection and litterally plopped down on the floor, and rolled over so I could rub her tummy! And she let me. Up until she would get aggitated if you touched her belly (aside from the sneaks I would get in pretending to just hold her whilst I scratched her head)

She laid there letting me rub her for quite some time and my daughter even commented on her tail wagging. She said she never realized a cat wagged it's tail like a dog

OH! I seen her kittens move!!! After I was done rubbing her belly, she remained in the bath and seen the distinct 'kick' despite her purring! Actually seen it a couple times and tried to get Kaitlynn to witness my madness, but she missed it. Doh!

So anyway, she slept in our room with us last night and she slept quietly and contently on our window sill
her new favorite spot...

I did add another nesting box to our room, just in case. I was reading another thread somewhere and seen some of the suggestions. Although, she has yet to nervously pace around the house. So now she has a cave-like nesting box and an open-topped box. I cleared a spot under my bed (removing hubby's shoe drawers
), and placed a blanket in the corner behind the chair in my room... who knows, she's more-n-likely to have these kits when and where I least expect it!

One thing funny. Last night before bed, DH was trying to play with her. He was wiggling his hands under the covers trying to entice her -- back and forth across the bed they went. I was surprised how much she played and for a very-preggo momma, she was pretty fast!

Oh well, another night down and that much closer to the big event!

Thanks for reading!!!

No kittens yet. Yeah, Willow, holding out for the weekend

She was so finicky last night. Dont know if she even knew what she wanted. Didnt know if she wanted water or wanted to eat, didnt know if she wanted me to pet her or not. Ate a WHOLE can of food herself... usually she leaves left-overs for the dog. He sat by patiently waiting for left-overs... He was so disappointed

One thing though... and this is strange... when she'd walk up to me to be petted, she seemed to want me to do her hind end.... ho boy... not even going there
But I did try to check it out some. Her hiney is yucky. Poor girl's hygeine is lacking some in the rear end division. Good thing she is so fluffy you cant see it unless you look for it! Was going to break out the baby wipes but then she decided she was done with me. BUT
I noticed she had dried 'something' also on her "who-who"
It was deep red. And was just a bit on each side stuck to her fur.

Even had my hubby look to make sure I wasnt imagining things... which I probably am.....

Had a dream last night
that she had two lone kittens. Only it wasnt her it was my male dog.
And I had to call a visiting vet to come in cuz the poor kittens couldnt eat, and had to explain to him how my male dog could have kittens. We put them there, like a surrogate transplant... Am I demented or what? The vet gave Chewy a shot to help him lactate. I think I am reading too many other threads

So here we are, still hanging in there
hopefully it will be this weekend.

... but still not holding my breath on these kits!

Watched in anticipation and jealousy as CJ birthed her kits last night and my only hope, through all of Willow's procrastination
my only hope is that I am home and awake for it.

Almost ready to send DH and the kids (dog included on a little vacation to give Willow and I a little peace and quiet
)

So anyway, no new news really. Willow seems to follow me to the floor I am on when I'm home, but still stay out of way of traffic. When I am downstairs, she likes to lay under the breakfast nook table. When I'm upstairs she likes to lay on the bench in my hallway or in the bathroom.

Last night around 4 in the morning... she kept visiting her litter box, digging around, straining, with nothing. She went on like this for about an hour and a half. I thought for sure maybe this was it
But after 5, she had a movement.

Oh well, sooner or later, but so wish it was sooner so we could get some sleep again

My mom told me I was nuts and just to leave the house for a while and I would come home to a litter of kits. Maybe this is true, but I still hope to be home for her...

one more thing I just noticed, and I swear I am not a leech shadowing my Willow's every move... but I just noticed that she isnt sitting on her hind end anymore.

I walked into the kitchen and thought she was getting ready to pee on the middle of the floor as I noticed her squatting. Well, she was just getting something to drink, but looks as if she isnt putting any weight on her hind end.

Maybe this is good news!
