My cat gave birth to 4 kittens about 3 weeks ago monday

So they are about 3 weeks old, she seems to be a good mother but sometimes I notice that she bites them
and it seems to be because they are trying to wonder off whe she is trying to wash them.

I cant really tell if shes biting them hard though. She does it many times but they seem to be fine. Is this normal behavour?

Many thanks

Mark

Yes, it is pretty normal for Mom to grab 'em up and put 'em back where she wants 'em to be. *grin* Especially if she is a good little Momma and feels that she needs to be doing her job washing them.

Now, check carefully to make sure Momma isn't breaking their skin with her bites though ... bite wounds can get infected pretty quickly.

How's Momma? Is she getting thin looking? Babies growing and gaining weight?

That could be a problem, she tends to get fleas but during her pregnancy we havent used any of the treatment because of poisioning the little things

This is normal. It's how she picks them up to move them to where she wants them.

Make sure to have Mama and all of her kittens spayed and neutered when the kittens are 8-12 weeks old.

Well she bites them everywhere aswell as not just by the scruffs of thier necks. It does look violent to me, but hey this is my first cat
we adopted her as a family who used to live by us just dumed her when they moved out.

Cats have no bite wounds, so hopefully all is well, also the kittens look out of proportion. Like thier ears seem to be lower down on thier heads.

I take it this is normal. the human body is out of proportion when first born
