Thought I'd introduce myself since I'm new here.I'm Arielrain and I'm from Rhode Island,in the U.S.A.I currently have two cats,a few birds and a turtle.I have always had a passion for animals.
I'd like to share a special story with you.A couple of years ago my husband and I discovered that a darling white persian kitten was living in the dumpster on the side of the building where we are employed. She would eat whatever scraps of food people would leave her,but would quickly run away when anyone approached. We had a gorgeous himalayan at the time as well as a calico tiger mix.The last thing we wanted was another cat .we thought we would at least rescue the poor thing, bring it to a vet and have her checked out,and hopefully find her a home.
Took us days to catch her and after looking into those big ice -blue eyes we should've known right there and then we'd fall in love with her.Discovered she was deaf, had a bad ear infection...after spending a small fortune on vet visits, we took her home and kept her seperated from the other cats for a while. She was already traumatized living out in the cold, and was terrified of people.I spent time with her every day .At first you couldn't go anywhere near her or she'd friek out. After dealing with numerous hissing sessions with the other cats as well as my husband and I,territorial issues with spraying, and daily cleaning her eyes as it is common in this breed for the eyes to tear,I was frustrated and overwhelmed but couldn't bring myself to take her to a shelter.
All that is passed us now. She's now a sweet gentle and loving little sweetheart. It took a lot of patience and love, but it was worth it in the end!
