The coconuts are still small for their age

Do I need to worry? We are at 30 days old, and here are our weights:

Hiwa: 7.4 oz
Hoku 7.7 oz
Kala 11.1 oz (yep I'm the monster of the group!)

Hiwa is starting to dive into Chloe's food, but the other 2 are showing no interest. I just worry that they are not on par with kittens their age. They are just starting to get their teeth, playing a little bit, but mostly they still sleep.

Yes, that sounds somewhat light. Unless my math is off, they should be approaching 12 oz - 18 oz at this point. I wouldn't panic but I'd be doing something about it.

Everyone has had a bout with Calici Virus but Chloe seems to be nursing everyone again, and I've stopped bottle feeding. Everytime I check them, every one seems to have a full tummy and they don't walk around squawking their heads off that they are starving, they are just SMALL. really really really small!

I saw your signature so obviously there were a lot of problems with this litter. It is not an easy situation and I'm sorry for how hard it must have been this last month.

Personally I would resume feeding with KMR until all of them got above 12 oz. These kittens need to get their weight up so they can be strong.

Due to the bout with calici, I think it is probably to be expected that they are small - but I agree with Nano ... resume supplementing Hoku and Kala, and let Hiwa eat as much of the canned kitten food as he/she wants. The two smaller ones are a bit smaller than I would like to see, but I do think the calici might have had a bearing on that - what kind of antibiotics were they taking while sick? Some can stunt growth. At 4 weeks, they should start to show a little more interest in canned food, so that's about right. Some kittens just get the hang of it faster than others.

They are small, but more important is that they are gaining weight steadily, eating well, and normally active. Kittens at that age should play in short bursts and sleep for a long time in between. Developmentally, your kittens sound quite normal.

When kittens are sick, they literally stop growing until they have recovered. So this leaves them small for their age for a while afterward.

But definitely, more important than the actual number on the scale is whether or not they are gaining steadily.

Hoku is now showing some interest in the kitten food, and Hiwa just LOVES it. I had both of them eating out of the palm of my hand tonight (literally LOL). I am out of KMR until tomorrow, but will resume adding it to the wet food.

Gaye - they were on a round of clavamox and then Hiwa was on Baytril for a second round of URI. I still have some sneezing going on, but everyone feels much better. Chloe still allows them to nurse which is probably the best thing for them, but honestly I can't wait until all three are on kitten chow even if its mixed with kmr, and I can tell how much they are eating. I'm sure by the time they go to their forever homes I won't even recognize them they will be so big, but they still worry me being so tiny. Kala was attacking the towel earlier, so at least he's starting to behave more like I'd expect a 4week old kitten to act.
